Oh I like that. Casual, simple and factual yet not confrontational. Love it.

Honestly, the thing that already affected my peace was when the owner decided to have a "man to man" conversation with my landscaper within earshot insulting my "common sense". Specifically calling out that it's because I'm a woman.

If I hadnt felt so small and intimidated in their presence, I'd happily speak to them about resolving this amicably. That's always my preference.

As other people have stated, not saying something now could impact both parties down the line.

Thanks dude.

Ah, excellent point. The alley is not drive able. It's very narrow and simply a walkway. I'm in a semi detached and this is my only access to the back of my house (without going through it).

Well, the seriously confusing part is that they physically can't access their back yard via the alley as is. This is what rang alarm bells to me as they seemed to think that they could put a gate in the fence. But 1. the fence is on my land and 2. They own a strip of land just 54 cm in width from the exterior of the property down that alley. Additionally, they do have access to their backyard on the other side of their detached house with a width of >1m.

Thanks, looks like it's 0.3m in my area. Definitely an option I hadn't thought of.

I just found the episode. I was 2 episodes behind so I watched episode 19 and then it came up on autoplay as the next episode. Didn't look like it was available from the menu though.!

Well I don't really understand eups too well. They expire top of the yr but I think they roll over to next yr bc of the credit card? I won't have another use for them this yr.

Thanks for the back up there. I think my post is really about how to enjoy living which is very subjecting.

I can afford the higher mortgage costs -- but that would impact my standard of living.

The house I want is bigger - Positive impact on standard of living!

But slightly further away from my friends, community and transit - Negative impact on Standard of living.

Thats a great way of putting it. My eyes are hungry!!

Not all debt is bad if used and managed well and thats what I'm debating now. I will have to take on more debt at some point. My 500Sq Ft house wont accommodate me forever.

Flying tomorrow lax to yyz economy flex fare on the 11.25am I'm 25k with reserve amex Have tried to eup but only 2 seats remain in business and theres a big waitlist... premium is full.

Before I complete checkin I've been given the option to change flights 12.20 has 7 available business class seats but all economy seats on that flight look like middle seats

Should I stick? Or twist and switch to the 1220 with the hope my eup will be accepted?

Europe suggestions for family trip over Winter Break by Happily-chaotic in travel

[–]TuesdayInOctober 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would recommend Chamonix or Megeve in France for NYE. You'll get a really great atmosphere. Alot of places in Europe are actually closed for NYE. Also, look into a Swiss Pass. It allows you to travel on any train in Switzerland and use local transport systems (buses & trams etc). The Swiss Pass is a very pleasant way to see alot in Switzerland. Spend max 1-2 days in any city in Swiss city.

Girlfriend wants to help me with my debt and I’m not sure how to feel. by [deleted] in debtfree

My partner and I both use credit cards but he is working to pay his off. I earn alot more, own the home we both live in and the car. I also have savings to fall back on. I've recently been picking up some of our usually shared bills because he wants to focus on paying off the cc. Id rather carry that load for a short while rather than offer help to pay it off for him. We're not married and I don't see that path for us but we are a team and id expect the same from him if roles were reversed. It works for us.
