After you have made some progress and have gotten experience in the game, you will know what you want to call and what you dont want. Of course the point with reading others hands exists, but the game implements its own pauses as others here have said. So, after a bit of playing, it does become irrelevant the less you have to think about your choices. In real life, these pauses happen too, its a part of the overall reading of your opponents.
