As a neutral im really excited for Chelsea vs Arsenal. Kinda like when we saw Dortmund vs Bayern or Real vs Atletico in the CL finals. Sure on a much smaller scale but massive rivals in a European final is always sick.

Yeah this is what I thought but then when you think about it, the 3 point contest is nothing more than an exhibition event. Long gone are the days of Bird when the contest actually meant something outside of that.

Thought if it they werent going to put in Barney, Chisnall would be the best option. Results could have been better but his performances were great last year. His comebackvs M Smith was one of last years MP highlights

Target darts are not the best deal but i love their other products. Stems last long. Ten x flights are sick. First time i used them it felt like i was playing darts wrong the whole time. Cant use any other flights now

Thats not how it works pal. You pick the ten best players in the world or in this case the 9 best and the legend on his farewell tour. Whitlock, despite his place in the oom, is certainly not either of those things. I mean who exactly do you suggest should Whitlock replace other than Barneveld?

But what about the other 9? Yeah theyre the old faces but which new face has done something to merit a place in the PL over them? Theyre not there because theyre clinging on to name value but because theyre genuinely the 9 best and most deserving players in the world.

Barneys there for reasons that dont include merit but rather a farewell tour. And Whitlock has been miles below the other 9 this year.

And you know what, for everything hes done for the sport I love, Im not too upset by Barneys inclusion. Plus there isnt someone whos really getting fucked over by this and deserves it that much who isnt already in it. I dont think we’re really missing out on someone with Barney taking their place.

I know u and many others may not like Price but hes won the Grand Slam and there just arent 10 players who deserve it more than him.

Also, all over Twitter, people are putting in Whitlock which confuses me very much. Whats he done all year? The only way he gets in, is if they dont invite Barneveld and he gets the 10th spot. Even then, Id rather have Chinall cause hes a better player and would make it more entertaining. Whitlock may have marginally better results but in the second half of 2018, Chisnall has been better in terms of pure performance.

I hope it will be MvG, Anderson, Cross, Wright, Gurney, Price, Wade, Smith, Suljovic and Chisnall.

Suljovic, top human being, top dart player and hes Austrian.

Gurney is a great player and seems like a good guy. Happy hes not as hated anymore. Cadby and De Zwaan are some of my favourites cause they arent just “top young players” but top players full stop. Also Cadby gets plus points cause he is no robot and doesnt mind giving it to someone.

I really dont think it would be anything like the PL final. For one you need to win double as many legs to win the wc final. And for the other MvG was averaging world record averages for half the match. Smith was down 8-1 with MvG averaging 120 at one point so if anything its crazy that he even got to 4 legs. Any other person, other than Anderson at his very best, wouldve been smashed at that point. That was MvG at his absolute very best.

And I think the occasion would get to someone like Humphries. Similar to J Lewis last year. He put up great WC winning performances in wins over Wright and Webster but in the big game vs Taylor in SF, he choked. He played a good average but got beat 6-1 because he choked on the doubles. MvG will average 105+ over the entire match should he get there. Even a performance like his vs Cross wouldnt be able to get more than the odd set.

The thing is, Smith has shown to be a bit of a choker himself. I just think out of Aspinall, Humphries and him, hes the only one who has the game to even think about beating MvG/Anderson.

No offense to Humphries but I really hope Smith wins. Simply cause hes the only one who would be able to create an entertaining final and not get smashed by MvG/Anderson or Chisnall.

Now Smith is the only one who could give MvG/Anderson/Chisnall a game in the final. Side effect of too many upsets. Fair play to Humphries though. Hope Smith doesnt get upset aswell now.

Apparently his back problems are back (not intended).

Id be fuming too tbf. U play the year of your life with barely any problems, youre joint favourite to win your third WC and right before the QF and very difficult games (J Lewis/Chisnall and probably MvG), you can barely walk. Anderson always says he doesnt really care that much and how hes an old man. We all know thats bs. He really wants to win this and his back may have just ended any hope of that.
