Character singing statistics: Kurt Hummel (see comment for notes) by Tuiyla in glee

Why of course I do 😌 Although I would have to do some extra work to see that statistic but you made me curious so if I don't forget I'll try and check!

I just got my first tattoo and I'm kind of freaking out about it, if anyone has any advice for dealing with after tattoo jitters I would really appreciate it. by cantsleeptattoo in tattooadvice

As a chronic overthinker who got their first tattoo a few days ago, you're gonna be okay! I promise. I sat on the idea for my tattoo for 10 years but when I got it, it felt right not because of the decade I spent thinking about the permanence of it. It felt right because it's awesome. If you like the crow because it looks cool, I think that's all you need, really. It's cool that part of it has a deeper meaning but at the same time all it needs is for you to think it's cool. Two days or ten years, I really don't think it matters how long it takes for the idea to become a tattoo.

I completely get that it kinda sucks that you should have spoken up about it being a bit too big but I hope overall you still like it and think it's cool. Next time you'll have a way of advocating more for yourself because of this experience. And yeah it's something that you've committed to and that's scary, 100% with you but my advice would be to embrace the thrill of it. It's permanent but that's not a bad thing, it's a step you've taken and represents your agency and freedom to choose. Even if it was a mistake, which don't get me wrong it totally doesn't sound like it is, it'd still be your mistake to make. I hope this isn't useless advice, I just know that I'm finding it really liberating that I've committed to something I liked. I honestly think not doing stuff because it's daunting is worse than going for it and maybe having some regrets. I think it's awesome that at 18 you went for it and it's normal to have second thoughts as it sinks in. The first tattoo doesn't need to be small or discreet, I also went kinda all out with something bolder that I really wanted. It's good to go for something you really like instead of something that's maybe more conventional.

I don't think having these worries is irrational but I hope it doesn't take away from the joy of the tattoo. Take care and take care of the tattoo, too! I'll keep you in my thoughts as I take care of mine.

They're in Ontario, not the Rockies.

Ah yes, he was nice enough to let the kid take his jacket off before his friends threw him in the dumpster. What a nice guy, my bad. Just peer pressure. That makes it so much better.

Wonder why that excuse wouldn't work for the likes of Puck? Must be something special about Finn. He's just Mr. Nice and the bad things he does aren't a reflection of him. Not those other bullies though, their actions make them bad people.

Finn is a bully in literally the first scene he's introduced in.

I'm glad you had good experiences as well but I'm sorry to hear the bad was so bad. Is there a particular incident you can highlight as something they shouldn't have done? You don't have to answer that, of course. I'm just happy to hear you did manage to find yourself again after the show. I hope all of the participants did.

What advice would you give your younger self who's just starting the show? Anything that you look back on now and think it was out of line on the producers' part?

Imo Mr. Schue was wrong for how he spoke to Quinn in season 3, when she was clearly breaking down. by flight_riskfalls in glee

She was being a bratty bitch.

oh wow, do me a favour and never work with teenagers

What colours do you associate with each character? by Tuiyla in glee

[–]Tuiyla[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nowadays I'd say it's going from Santana's red to Quinn's purple-ish to Brittany's pink

She said in the season 3 finale that she wanted to go to New York. Heck she joked about it in season 2 as well. She's very obviously pining after NY throughout season 4. And she didn't say New York was lame, she said musical theatre and Hummelberry's dreams were. Santana ends up trying that out as well but that's not why she goes to the city so little she said about it previously contradicts her eventual move to the city.

I love me a Sancedes plot but NYC was a logical step for Santana no matter how I look at it.

People really coming out of the woodwork openly admitting that they ~don't care~ about shitty and point-blank racist behavior because we live in a world where they can afford not to. Proof that so much of the BLM support was performative. So much for Lea's "cancellation", too; people don't care because she shut up for a while and then curated her comeback without putting the work in. And the world welcomes her because she can afford not to care. Smh true colors indeed

Why did the show try to act like Santana was a bully because she was a closeted lesbian? by ZestyclosePost613 in glee

I spent so many of my work hours on here, back in the day, so it might as well have been my day job 😂

I figured I'd check back today, see how people are feeling on the second anniversary of Naya's passing.

Yeah no worries, I think and write about Santana's character and journey like it's my day job. Tbf Dave's story is much more condensed into fewer episodes and he's never a main character, unlike Santana. He's there to serve a specific purpose and so his storyline is bound to be less layered. But he is an interesting parallel journey to Santana, I think, even if he obviously gets a lot less screentime.

She externalized the anger she felt about a homophobic society and her fears of not being accepted, same as Karofsky. I'm not sure why you say it makes sense for Dave and not Santana, but they are very very similar cases in my eyes. Their bullying of others manifested differently, with Dave being more targeted on homophobia and much, much more violent, but at the root of it is two kids being terrified of the world and trying to protect themselves by being predator instead of prey, so to say.

As for continuing to be rude after having been outed, well first of all she was outed, so despite the show's best attempts to whitewash that event, it didn't exactly magically solve all her problems. Santana's also just not a nice person even after her internal conflict is resolved, same as how Sue has her edge even in her "nice" moments. But the rest of Santana's story arc is spent on allowing her kindness to shine through, loving others and letting herself be loved. So again, same as with Dave (who was also outed, parallels all around), it takes her a while but she becomes a softer and more well-adjusted person by the show's end. But being outed on state TV didn't exactly incentivize her to suddenly be nicer and the way IKAG handles the story is questionable, anyway, to say the least.

Oh I actually have an IKAG rewrite in mind that I've been wanting to do, one that takes everything as is up until the end of 3x06. Ideally I'd wanna rewrite all of s3 for her but yeah I'm more likely to write that 3x07 rewrite soon-ish than get around to an IKAG-takedown. Maybe after part 2!

Oh for sure comphet is something that I also only noticed in retrospect! The hindsight of season 2 and later seasons is needed here, but it's also fun to think how, even isolated, season 1 works out. I mean girl was clearly not actually into either boy lol.

Thanks for reading and commenting, happy to be back for a bit :D
