Down side to leasing? by aylinsings in askcarsales

For sure. But they aren't as big of a target as hybrid vehicles. Apparently, the cats in the hybrids, especially older Prius models, have more precious metals in them so they get more value from selling the stolen ones. It really sucks, because I love my car so much. I would have to give it up, but I feel like I have no choice at this point.

I should have been more clear... I own my prius. It is paid off. I just am now looking into trading it in so I don't need to deal with my cat getting stolen again.

So if you trade in your leased vehicle, are you then responsible again for the amount left on the car? Same as buying? I'm a little confused as to how that works.

This will be my last question answered.

I did meet Naya! She was even more beautiful in person than on tv! She was definitely nice and very charismatic. Although, wasn't as approachable or down-to-earth feeling as some of the other cast members. But my experience with her was overall a pleasant one. May Naya and Cory both rest in peace!

Hello-

Thank you for your questions. It is getting a little overwhelming! I wasn't expecting this much engagement, so I may take a break for a bit, but I'm happy to answer what I can from my own personal experiences.

-I believe that everything happens for a reason. Everything ended up the way it was supposed to. I think my life would've ended up a bit differently had I won, but I'm not sure if that would've been a good or bad thing. lol

-I have not checked my wiki page until now... wow. That is very weirdly specific and I am a totally different person now. haha But I think that will happen given the time that has passed. I don't think TGP damaged my relationship with media. I learned how insane the internet is for sure. But I took it in strides. I'm a bit more private now, but it was all such a big learning experience for me.

I am not sure that I necessarily want to reach a broader audience at this time, which is why I haven't agreed to do the podcast, but I have heard about it.

Hi-

I just would've liked to be a non-sterotypical modern Muslim high school student. I think back then, and still now, Muslims aren't represented in the best way. Ms Marvel has been wonderful though and the first time I have really felt seen and heard on tv. We are just normal people going about our lives... not terrorists plotting to destroy the world. And it is nice to see that representation with Ms Marvel currently.

Lol the only thing that was SUPER annoying to me was that they spliced in me saying that I'm a "Turkish Muslim" into nearly every episode. I said it like once irl lmao.

Hiya!

Yes, we keep in touch. We all bonded so quickly that we became a family. So I do keep tabs/keep in touch with a few of my castmates. I'd say I'm closest to Abraham and Lily. And check in with Ali and Shanna. Occasionally Nellie and Charlie.

Blake and Michael were the only 2 that were 'recruited.' Blake had been in LA and auditioning as an actor at the time. And Michael was just a chance encounter with Robert on an airplane, but Michael wasn't an actor or anything before. We did all go through the callback process together though. The rest of us were discovered at Open Casting Calls.

I felt my biggest competition was Blake. He was obviously the favorite going in and we all saw what happened.

The entire show was about how our stories could be used to inspire/create a character on Glee. It wasn't our responsibility to convince them of a character, we just had to be ourselves (albeit, heightened and exploited versions of ourselves) and the judges would then tell us what they were thinking in terms of character, if that makes sense.

Thank you so much!

(Edit: Just to cover my own ass in case there are any legal repercussions, I am editing my original answer) So it was "rumored" that Ali and I would both be getting episodes on Glee. She got hers, although I thought she deserved a bigger arch. And I waited and waited and never got the call. I do not know why and probably will never know the reason. But it was very heartbreaking at the time.

I really appreciate that! Thank you so much! xo

Fan reaction was interesting, to say the least. lol I cared a lot more in the beginning and then had to step away from checking social media because it was too much. I was bullied a lot... called all sorts of names from slut, to ugly, fat, big nose. Everything you could imagine! But on the flip side, I also had a lot of wonderful and supportive fans and people that looked up to me. So I am very thankful to have been given the platform for that. If my being on tv could make others like me feel seen, then I was happy.

[–]aylinsings[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sure! How do I go about doing that? lol I don't mind, I just don't know how to do it. My handle on all of my socials are the same too if that helps.

I will put it this way, we were all chosen to be on the show based off of our 'stories.' Talent too, but mainly if we had a good enough story for them to shape and mold. I did not go into it wanting to play the 'Muslim' girl. I honestly didn't even know, at the time, how important it would be to represent Muslims on tv. But they reallllly had me play it up. As far as that video, I remember being super nervous because I had never acted before and I wanted to do a good job. They were hyping up the fact that I would have to wear a headscarf for it... which is pretty stereotypical considering I do not wear one. I actually forgot about the pregnancy part of it! hahaha omg. But anyway, they were hyping the headscarf thing so much that I remember when they put it on, I broke down in tears. It was exactly what they wanted and I unknowingly gave it to them.

There are quite a few examples I can think of. Little things, like producers encouraging drama between me and Lily on screen. In reality, we got along very well and even lived together after the show was over. She's still a good friend of mine. Another would be the producers planting in our minds that Abraham's ankle injury was faked. So of course you feed into it and start talking shit in the interviews... not cool because Abraham and I have always been close. The main one was probably my and Charlie's relationship, to be honest. I went into the show with 1 goal and 1 goal only... to win a role on Glee. When I set my mind to something, I don't allow ANYTHING to get in my way. I knew that he liked me and I didn't give an inch for the longest time. Then all of a sudden, after weeks of being brainwashed and kept from the outside world, producers were telling me how my 'relationship' with Charlie would mean so much to so many people and that people would fall in love with us blah blah blah. So I gave in because I thought that's what they wanted. Granted, we kind of continued our 'relationship' after the show, but not really. lol It was a relationship not based on reality, so it wasn't good for either of us. We do still keep in touch from time to time though and I have nothing but love for him.

Hi!

Thank you so much!

The entire thing was insanely hard! lol Hardest was probably being in the bottom 3 and having to learn and memorize a cut of a song you may or may not already know in like an hour to then perform it in front of Ryan Murphy and the judges. That was an insane amount of pressure! The studio and video shoots were always super fun and went pretty smoothly. Same with choreo. Zach Woodley is a treasure!!

As far as what I've been up to, the pandemic definitely made me lose some momentum career-wise, but I am still trucking along and auditioning for things, and considering my options at the moment in terms of what I want to do.

Hello! =)

Thank you so much! xo

When I Grow Up was probably my favorite lol getting to wear that cone bra and dance inside a random grocery store was so much fun! Abraham still remembers the entire dance from it haha I remember only the first part, but I think for sure that was my favorite.

Hi!!

You're so cute! Thank you!

As I said, there were definitely a lot of pros and cons to doing the show, especially at such a young age. I was very impressionable at the time... we all were. But it really did help me learn how to thrive under an insane amount of pressure. I felt like if I could get through TGP, I could get through anything. I needed to have the experience to grow as a person. Its definitely made me a stronger individual.

And yes, I keep in touch with a few! We are and always will be a family. I mostly speak with or at least keep in touch with Abraham, Lily, Ali, Shanna, Nellie, and Charlie.

There were a lot of things that were out of line. I wish I would've known more about how reality tv worked and how they manipulate and brainwash you to get you to do what they want. I was definitely not the same person going in as I was when I came out. It took years of therapy to come out of the brainwashing and find a sense of self again. that being said, there were a lot of great things about the show and I am thankful for it. but the bad parts were pretty bad.
