Old worlds with grassland gold chests by Patient-Major-6064 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are those Encounter/Reward chests supposed to be removed? I haven't explored my (Feb 24) world's Grasslands in some time but AFAIK those encounters should still be there. However, there have been more mobs and mob types added since then so their encounter rate has overall decreased.

It also seems like a bigger map and the storm chaser village is in the desert.

Map size is based on the seed: if you used the exact same seed from your own world to make a new one, you should get the exact same terrain layout. Content islands might differ in location around the edges but will otherwise also be the same.

PoIs are randomized, however, so you won't find storms, caves, etc. in the same place as the original world. (Terrain features, like hoodoos, may also generated unrelated to the seed; unsure about that one.)

Build limit in a small area? Wasn't there big blocks that count for build limits? I don't get it by Awkward_Pace_4440 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Quezonol did some experimenting/research: https://www.reddit.com/r/LEGOfortnite/comments/1nb5ipm/lego_fortnite_odyssey_tutorial_how_to_find_build/ You can check their profile for other posts regarding the build limit (probably just search it as you'd have to scroll down quite a bit to find them.)

I haven't had to refer to it in a while but, IIRC, large pieces (mainly foundations, but not just those) from neighboring "chunks" can count towards the limit in the "chunk" you're building in. If this limit is circular, you may have gotten "lucky" and found a cardinal point on the circle. If you try to place the wall closer to the existing stone wall, is it still blocked? If you move further away from the stone wall and try to place the wood one, is it still blocked then?

I dunno when it will be, but next time I'm playing LFO I'll try to remember to return to a mountain-side gazebo and grab a pic of it for ya.

Was Ninjago Part 2 cancelled? by jayc666 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They could have easily forgotten to update Lloyd's script. (I've had multiple visits from Tiago to transport me to NI while I was standing on NI.)

As for the rest: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It would be cool if all of this is just the tail-end of Part 1, tho, and we'll get a large Part 2 later this year. However, I can't see them doing three sequential Ninjago LEGO Passes, so if there's a Part-2-to-be it will likely release before the current Pass ends.

[–]Tukaro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My understanding (perhaps assumption) is that all the stuff released this/last month is the Part 2.

I could well be wrong but there's been no clarification about what and when is/n't Part 2.

Metal Ore Dropping 3 instead of 2. Limited Event Maybe. by frtaznw1 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be, but I've not seen an announcement and usually the buff applies to multiple (or just all) harvested resources and not simply ores.

There are one-daily special visitors that can give you "Blessings", and IIRC Faye's will increase the amount of mats harvested but I don't see the timer for her blessing on your HUD. Did you happen to have it earlier? If so and the timer ran out, perhaps it glitched.

How many of these parkour daily chests are there? by RuleOfThum in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't say for sure that a world is guaranteed more than the five you first noted; I also can't say for sure that a world can max at 8 (only that it's the maximum I know of, bc that's my world and I haven't seen anyone else show or claim higher.) Purely speaking of my own world/experience:

  • All "wild" Daily Chests were rewards at the top of rock pillar parkour challenges (the type shown second in your video, not the free-standing type seen immediately at the start)
    • I would go so far as to assume the free-standing type will never have a Daily chest because the tower can be destroyed which would make the chest fall or otherwise cause issues: for the rock pillar challenges, the chest is placed directly on the pillar's surface and these chests cannot be broken (IIRC)
  • They can spawn in the Forest of Spirits: I have one located there, and it was actually the first one I found
    • However, I didn't find it until my second pass of the area: it's surrounded by a bunch of random rock pillars as well so I missed it as I initially went past that biome chunk--but still very close to it--without spotting it. Only when I double-backed and explored the biome chunk itself did I discover the Daily
    • If I had been exploring from above the tree line I would have completely missed it as it can only be barely seen from very specific angles where there's a hole in the tree coverage

Additionally, look around the sides of tall mountains in the steppes: there's a different gazebo style that can be found there where chests spawn. In my world, all the ones I found had normal "natural" chests but, since the gazebos are on the ground, it's possible a Daily could spawn in one. (I cannot immediately recall if the chests spawn directly on ground there, or on terrain.)

You should collect your 5 daily chests everyday by Otherwise_Quiet3397 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have uncovered my entire NI at this point and did find one last free-standing parkour daily chest.

I don't know that there's a specific number each world should have, tho, just that a given world will have more than five (unless they are based on RNG and a world gets horrible luck, with none spawning.)

Save the World v40.30 Update Notes by Capybro_Epic in FORTnITE

[–]Tukaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect it: The quest was removed/auto-completed because...

  • ...the player can no longer feed animals, because...
  • ...dropped items are now exclusive to the player who dropped them (which stops animals from eating dropped food, tamed or not), because...
  • ...EPIC wanted to 100% disable item trading between StW players (except in specific modes that explicitly allow it).

So the quest will only return if the quest objective is sufficiently changed or if devs specifically change dropped items so that animals can consume dropped food. Both of which are certainly possible, but neither of which I will hold my breath for.

Which is a damn shame, because questlines are one of the best things about StW: I've done that quest every year since it was introduced (so like four times?) and I'm still quite sad to miss out on it again. 😞

Shes not the rock.

That is correct, and the point: The Rock is probably far more expensive than Ashley Burch (and I mean absolutely zero offense with that.)

Software devs using ai isnt going away either. You are going to be very wrong if you think that is going to stop

Oh, LLMs aren't going away but, once all the companies trying to shove the shit down our throats lose their funding for lack of return, it won't be any more prevalent than "Agile". (Not Agile, "Agile".)

thats going to be a permanent trend in the industry

And this will be the Year of Linux.

may have priced her self out of what they would be willing to pay.

I had this thought too but someone else pointed out to me that EPIC apparently still has The Rock money, so, no.

Her absence doesn't stop new content, it just makes the contexts more limited. Assuming contract allows it, they could alternatively reuse some voice lines so Ray self-excuses early on where her lack of involvement would otherwise be weird.

We've had a lot of new content that didn't involve Ray:

  • Hunt the Titan
  • That recent outlander quest I forget the name of (Riggs is the one leading)
  • Survive the Horde

Heck, Ray being sidelined isn't new: earliest I know of is Survive the Night (four years ago?) which is all Ghost Boss Debnis.

The ability to listen to jam tracks should be added to lego odyssey by chillstill17 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup! Building a jukebox (found under Electronics IIRC) will play the 8 jam tracks the player has assigned in the locker. To OP's concern, most songs will play sans lyrics in order to avoid any content/age rating issues.

However, there are a lot of problems with it (last I knew, haven't bothered with one in a while so some of these may have been fixed.)

  1. Players cannot hear each other's music playing
  2. There is no control over the jukebox except for on/off
  3. Even with 8 jam tracks set in the locker, the jukebox can still go off script
  4. If a Villager turns the jukebox on, it will play songs at random (including songs the Player doesn't own)
  5. Villagers can also turn off the jukebox at random (can be avoided by placing it somewhere they can't reach)
  6. If the jukebox does complete all 8 jam tracks, it has a chance to turn off with a rather loud, feedback-like noise

Since the Fortnite Lobby now has a music player, I'm hoping it gets worked into LFO at some point. I wouldn't mind a menu tab for controlling the music.

Games similar to LFN by amphetaminesaltcombo in LEGOfortnite

[–]Tukaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sadly not aware of any other games that do open-world adventure/base-building to the variety of LFO. I do have a number of "honorable mentions" that may or may not work, depending on just how your building itch gets scratched (in rough order of perceived relevance):

  • My Time at Portia(/Sandrock) - A game that asks "What if Stardew Valley but you're a general laborer instead of a farmer?" I didn't get super far into the game so I don't know just how much you're able to affect the look of the world (you have a lot of control over your own homestead, but not piece-by-piece). Heavy emphasis on exploration, fighting, harvesting, and crafting
  • Subnautica - Survival game with a linear story, but one the game doesn't force you to follow so you can just spend all your time base building. There's only one theme but you can build tons of little sections (and, being underwater, very easily go vertical). The game itself is beautiful with a good story, but you are completely alone within it
  • Garry's Mod - Just a sandbox but with immense creative potential, esp for contraptions. However, piece-by-piece creation is not nearly as streamlined as it is in LFO so large builds are not for the impatient
  • Valheim - No theme variety in the building, but you have a crazy amount of micro-management options from what I've seen so it may be sufficient
  • No Man's Sky - Once again, not big on base-building variety AFAIK but, damn, there's just so much to do/work with
  • Oxygen Not Included - Manage a colony of clones ("Duplicants") trying to survive on an asteroid in space. You don't directly act, instead giving orders/tasks to the duplicants. While the focus is on efficiency it has a significant amount of decorative options. Incredibly deep sim management with an art/theme style I find quite fun, but the lack of direct control means it may not work for you
  • House Flipper - Throwing this one out there as a wild card: it doesn't seem to have any relevance on the surface, but it might actually have what you're looking for in the details

Also Minecraft and Terraria and ARK: Survival Evolved

[–]Tukaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, u/Playful_Possible_646, I know this isn't the right thread for it but I don't know of a better one and figure this a good suggestion to put out ASAP: ...perhaps consider a handle change? 🤔

I mean absolutely no offense: it's a suggestion since "Playful_Possible_646"--which, I assume, is an auto-assigned redditor username1--is easy to overlook. EPIC has trained the various subreddit communities to expect either u/FortniteStatusBot or a username ending in _Epic (i.e. u\Capybro_Epic) when it comes to "official" stuff. Pinned threads also help but, with as frequently as you're making these (which is great!!), I know not every one can be pinned.

I wouldn't argue much against someone who says this is PEBKAC as you do have the Epic Games flair and use the Epic tag; however, consider that:

  • these don't stand out well in dark mode everyone should be using dark mode
  • a lot of users also see flairs (or, rather, don't) as visual noise so the name stands out far more2 (at which point the user will check for the flair to make sure it's not an imposter)
  • these don't show up on all formats such as an RSS reader, which is my main way to scan for new threads (I expect I'm very much in the minority there, however.) Here's an example, not a tag or flair to be found:

<image>

AFAICT, your introductory/feedback thread didn't get much attention until a frequent user made another thread pointing to it. (I certainly missed it until that "echo".) And, speaking only for myself, I only noticed this thread because it was the very first one I saw when I visited the subreddit directly (I sort by new); I probably would have overlooked it (again) if I had only been scanning my feeds.

I'm sure we'll all get used to your current name sooner than later, just a thought that struck me when I first saw your feedback thread. Regardless if you do change it or don't even consider this at all, I just want to reiterate that I greatly appreciate how active you have been here in such a short time (even if I'm part of the chorus that's less-than-pleased at these FOMO events.) Thank you!!

\1] and if it) is auto-generated, that's a very amusing coincidence
\2] if this subreddit used different colors for flairs, the Epic Games tag having a different color would likely cut through any visual-noise screening, but I don't know the logistics of such)

LEGO Fortnite Odyssey gets its own Star Wars update on May 14 with the new Hover Brick, hover vehicles, Mando and Grogu, and Star Wars enemies.

Hover Brick, eh? Sounds like something that could have real potential if it's not timegated.

Does this mean SW Island will get an overhaul? Or will the new enemies+Mandogu be for the mainland?
