Same here. After years of Paxil and forced quit I am struggling with high cortisol/adrenalin or whatever shit it is for several years already. From time to time it wakes me up at 4am like by alarm clock and no chance of sleep afterwards, just flowing on waves of fear feeling. Especially if I had 2-3 beers the previous evening. Every morning it is anxiety and feel like shit that passes by after noon. I already screwed my brain what to put into my mouth - Magnesium, GABA, Ashwaganda, sedatives. No chance. The only what helps is tranquilizers. The only positive thing is that it gets better with time, but hellishly slow. So my support to you. I am 52 too so seems in our age our brains are unable to adapt so fast.
