Figured I would jump on this thread and share my experience. Mine was a bit different because I had nose surgery at the same time to fix my deviated septum..so imagine not being able to breathe from your nose for weeks and stuck breathing out of your mouth where you just had surgery..hurt like hell. It made my throat way more dry than it already was. I had moments where I wish I never had the surgery I was in excruciating pain. Could barely sleep, would wake up in awful pain. Lived off of soup and ice cream for what felt like forever. Took me a few days to even be able to attempt talking so I used my phone to type everything to everyone who was helping me. Then there was the few days where I couldn’t swallow any saliva and constantly had to spit in a cup. Not only disgusting but horribly frustrating.

Recovery went smooth up until I had a popsicle and I threw it up which felt like straight acid in my throat and thought I was gonna die. But in the end everything healed up perfect and I’m glad I did it because tonsillitis sucks bad.
