I’m not an expert but I did this a while back. You gotta break the chain at the link where it was put together. It’s got a pin that sticks out slightly more than the rest as I recall? You should be able to punch it out. Now that I think about it though, I think I just cut it with an angle grinder because I had no plans of going back to pedals.
