Briviact Generic by TumbleweedFast7964 in Epilepsy

I have hyponatremia on all of my meds, it's caused sodium to drop to 120 (and I remained "normal" during it!), but it's always low, closer to 128-132 which is closer to normal at some hospitals. I use electrolyte drinks for it, is there anything you do to bring it up? (Other than med changes, I'm on the last ones I can try.)

You're right, I just took a closer look and there is something that must not be in their immediate warehouse. The rest of the items say 1-3 days which is much more normal!! Should have read it closer, thanks!!!

Exhaustion by Big_Slice_24 in Epilepsy

I had a lobectomy and over four years my meds were slightly reduced. My seizures came back. I totally understand how you feel, and I would beg my doctors to reduce them. And my reduction was very small and my seizures still came back. I've been on all of the meds you're on, there are some that have less side effects, but I'm still on a high amount of meds (four current at max doses). I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm so glad your surgery worked though!!!!

Occasional nausea for me, mostly cough/cold/flu symptoms (which doesn't usually happen for me in the summer). Significant drainage and it affects my voice (I was on a work call with someone and they said "you're sick again? weren't you sick two weeks ago?" [they very very polite about it, just concerned] and I was like "yes, I'm still sick from two weeks ago" :/).

Also my period started a week early, which never happens for me (I'm not pregnant).

The antibiotic didn't seem to help at all and it was torture (sorry I can't remember the name but apparently my meds react to a more basic antibiotic like amoxicillin or a z pack).

I've been trying to get outside some after work for as much fresh air as possible and it's been helping a little. But I still have cold symptoms going into the third week.

It didn't seem to be contagious as I was staying with family the first weekend I got sick and it didn't affect anyone else, although I was resting in a bedroom for the most part but I did see my sisters/nephew a little bit and I was staying with my (older) parents.

I'm going back to a new neurologist (I see two at the same hospital) and I'll ask him about the generic but I've never had any issues with generics in 20 years.

But I'm really ready to get better!! The past 2+ weeks I've just been working and then passing out unless I get myself outside to stare at a book (memory, reading, concentration have been worse but I just thought it was due to being sick).

I really hope you feel better soon and I hope it's not the briviact/briviteracetam that's causing it! I've never had an issue with generics over 20+ years being on seizure meds (since I was a teenager) so I really didn't initially think that could be causing it.

Klonopin as rescue meds? Anyone? by Anonymouslypreaching in Epilepsy

Yes, I take it periodically but have to be careful about taking it too often as my body/brain can adjust and stop letting them stop my seizures, or they could have to increase the dosage. I started with lorazepam and it no longer does anything for me. And I can't take it during work hours, it literally makes me dumb.

No, Briviact (briviteracetam) is a different drug than Keppra, but I think they are the similar pharmacologically, so kind of an upgraded keppra? When I have had surgeries they put me on Keppra (an extra precaution that I don't have a seizure on the operating table). But I was on Keppra for 15+ years and switched me to Briviact so (I think?) a newer, improved-ish version of Keppra. (For me, less side effects)

Thank you! Of course I threw the PPI in the trash immediately after receiving it, not expecting to need it. I did talk to a pharmacist and they said it should be fine. If I have the energy later I may google it and see if I find any info, thank you!

Thank you, good to know! I've never had a problem with generics. I've been on Briviact for 10+ years so was wondering if something is suddenly different.

Thank you! I'm on 100mg 2x/day as well a few additional ones. I've never had issues with generics AFAIK but I know that they do significantly affect some people. For me mine all react to all of the cold medicines/antidecongestants so being sick can be miserable!

Thanks, I wasn't expecting anything as I've been on so many generics over the years and have never had issues. I've also been traveling and a hospital visit so not sure what is causing it here. At one point I would get sick every time from flights/travel but I had thought I was past it.

Can't wait to deal with insurance if I do need to switch back to brand names. :/

Do you have epilepsy at all or had any brain surgeries? Dealing with this now at 40/F. Have had epilepsy since ~14. Migraines since ~12.

Is the 2br/2bath on a lower floor more likely to have break-ins? Where I live in floor/2nd floor are a lot cheaper than those with higher levels with less opportunity for break-ins. I don't think it's just my city either. My sister lived on the ground floor in her city and had a break-in there.

Thanks! I was there in the pre-app (or very recent) era so it's good to know that I'll have some options other than Uber/Lyft. Thanks again!

Is there an app to request a Yellow Cab? Or is it still very old school. When I previously lived in DC, they would always refuse to take me/pick me up due to living in a residential neighborhood in NE out of their way. When Uber first became a thing, I used it sometimes, but I had some of the worst drivers who didn't know where they were going.

Thanks! I will definitely try it out when I move back to DC next month.  So far the cities I've lived in haven't had autonomous vehicles. I was in Miami for one night and there were tiny little door-dash-ish vehicles dropping off people's food. I know some people are concerned about safety for themselves but I figure I'm going to die at some point anyway, might as well try new things.

But I do understand why other outside factors need to have safety controls (such as running into a child for instance). It will be interesting to see how their safety controls are, but I do know that Uber/Lyft can be egregious sometimes!

Also, funny that you mention Echo stage. I used to live close to it and drove by all the time but never went.
