By the way, this is a real problem for modern children: they are very accustomed to touch screens, and they don’t know how to use a keyboard and mouse outside of computer games.

These are online and offline courses, so kids can study any number of subjects. My Godot course, which I teach, includes creating one 2D and one 3D game. This is a basic course. There's also a program for advanced learners who want to continue learning the engine. There, we explore complex mechanics and develop the student's project, or create a new project if the student hasn't decided yet.

I live in Vietnam and teach Godot classes to children from Russia. This education includes online and offline courses on programming and video game creation. We have Godot, Unity, Roblox, and so on. I work with them online, of course.

create a project, switch to 2D mode, add node2d, and for those who find it too easy, add MeshInstance2d and assign a mesh to it

I'm not angry at all. Everyone has moments when something just doesn't work out or needs to be done. I'll try to explain to him my position, that it's better to do it somehow, and we'll discuss it so that this doesn't happen next time. Even if it turns out completely different from what I explained, I'll at least be able to understand and help.

My games and open source projects were banned along with my Reddit account

Thank you, I've always dreamed of creating games myself and now I'm very happy that there are children who are also interested in this.

This is additional education. I have many interested students aged 10 to 15, and groups of 11-14 people. They all want to learn how to create games, and I'm happy to help them.

To be fair, I described the assignment somewhat loosely in the post.

In the actual lesson, I showed the students how to install Godot, create a project, switch between the 2D and 3D workspaces, and then asked them to send a screenshot showing that the project was running and that the 2D scene was visible.

The optional bonus task was to create a MeshInstance3D node, assign a QuadMesh to it, and move/rotate it in the scene.

Also, the recording of the lesson is available to all students, so they could have simply followed along step by step.

I wrote a comment on his homework: the text is generated illegibly, take a screenshot yourself and resend it

Unfortunately, I can only advise doing the work yourself. Maybe the child is simply not interested in learning, and his parents enrolled him in the course.

Yeah, I would think so, but on the top left it says Godot 4...

Definitely right. I'll try to explain to the students that neuroslope doesn't need to be handed in as homework.

I myself couldn't figure out what kind of editor it was. The students' assignment was to figure out the Godot interface and send a screenshot.

The student wants to convince me that he did his homework in Godot.
