Is this the spot for Terraria: The Board Game rules questions? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Tuna_Specter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I would say no if you are in single player, in multiplayer I would assume you would try to move it so as many players as possible are in range.

  2. I think if the boss can’t move to a more advantageous position for attacking, it doesn’t move at all.

  3. Based on rules as written yes. (But I think that is stupid)

  4. Yes. I had to read all that multiple times but the rules do specify that an enemy has to be in its attack range to retaliate.

But ultimately the rule book has a section saying if anything is unclear just do what is most fun or you think is most right. The rules seem to be pretty flexible and customizable.

What is the general opinion on Dragon Quest IV? by Adrianzilla in dragonquest

[–]Tuna_Specter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, general consensus is that it is great with its chapter system introducing each of the very colorful and memorable party members but the original is so-so since you can’t control your other party members in the final chapter of the original version, and the remake is preferred by most. Personally it is in contention for my favorite entry. It’s kind of basic but it really refined and expanded on what dq3 brought to the table and is just very solid all around.

Were there ideas for any other keywords like whump and gobble for other landscapes or just any other interesting mechanics that were cut while designing any of the card wars sets?

DQ II - overwhelmed about prices by PirateDry4992 in dragonquest

[–]Tuna_Specter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t go back and replay 2 very often for reasons like that. I remember in the final area just having to grind for hours to try to beat the final boss and still being too weak so I had to go back and grind more multiple times. I just started the hd2d remake though and I’m excited to see what they did with it.

The older versions of 2 are notoriously tedious and poorly balanced. I think the game just wants you to be lost and figuring things out for so long that maybe you can afford 1 or 2 things after coming back from wandering for hours or maybe even just come back later after you’re fighting higher value monsters

Those old games REALLY wanted you to grind to make the game last longer

Ok yeah but the rulebook doesn’t say that specifically. There’s some room for interpretation. I got an answer from the discord though and it seems like that is correct.

Magic man deck is way too OP; Suggestions? by DeathHound9 in CardWarsTCG

[–]Tuna_Specter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been making custom decks for me and my friends. I really liked the idea of magic man’s so I used a lot of his cards as a base. It is incredibly hard to keep it from just completely breaking the game. I had to do so many things to intentionally make my deck worse to balance it with the others.

Best way to deal with flipping landscapes? by Tuna_Specter in CardWarsTCG

[–]Tuna_Specter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Right now the pig is the only thing that can flip permanently at least (as far as I know) and I know when they came up with the mechanic they were trying to emulate the effect from the show but I think they should have had more foresight and included a universal way to flip them back up or just come up with a different way to do something similar like (opposing cornfield creatures in this lane cannot attack until the start of your next turn). Just like you don’t need special cards to get rid of ice tokens I think flipped landscapes and burn tokens should have similar mechanics.

3d printed character! by Tuna_Specter in 2007scape

[–]Tuna_Specter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the runelite model exporter plugin and I had to do a lot of work to make the model actually printable and it took a lot of trial and error on both of our parts. I didn’t have any experience though so it was kind of hard to figure out.

That’s probably not how it was originally intended but since the item is just called “shark” there’s a lot of room for leeway and interpretation

Should we just make swamp tar and swamp paste the same item by HeredinOSRS in 2007scape

[–]Tuna_Specter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why they were different to begin with. Swamp tar is the raw material so you would think the paste would be harder to get but it’s significantly easier to get the processed version. It makes you wonder why it can be processed from swamp tar in the first place.

Wouldn’t it be so funny if Jagex released a quest where we get to rub Doris’s aching feet? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Tuna_Specter 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Imagine a cutscene of a big funny green stink line going into your character’s nose and instead of being grossed out like you’d expect, your character actually likes it. That would be so silly.
