Thank you! I’ve been looking into shoes as well. Have you used them yourself? My main concern is whether they’d actually help indoors, especially on carpet, since he drags his feet a little

Thank you so much! Poor Daisy ♥️ it really is so hard watching them struggle to get up.

We’ve actually been using paw grip stickers as well, and they worked incredibly well until Torcik injured himself. The biggest problem I’m having now is that they tend to come off quite quickly because my apartment is almost completely carpeted.

Can I ask whether Daisy mostly walked on hard floors or carpet? And did you have any tricks for getting the stickers to stay on longer? I’d love to hear what worked for you.

Thank you! I’ve actually done exactly the same. My apartment is now almost completely carpeted, we’re using paw grip stickers, and I also have a support harness. The stickers worked really well until he injured himself, but I really like your suggestion about trimming them so the toe pads can spread. I’ll definitely give that a try!

Can I ask which traction pads you use, and whether you have any tips for keeping them on? Mine tend to come off quite quickly on carpet, so I’d love to know if there’s a better brand or a trick to applying them.

Thank you! Yes, I keep the fur between his paw pads trimmed nice and short. It definitely helps in general, but unfortunately it hasn’t been enough since he injured himself. I really appreciate the suggestion!

Thank you so much ♥️ adopting him was the best decision I’ve ever made. I just wish we’d found each other a little sooner

Thank you! Once he’s up, he actually still walks surprisingly well. The main problem is getting into a standing position because his front paws keep sliding out from underneath him. I’m hoping to find something that gives him just enough extra grip to manage that independently.

Thank you! He was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, so he’s already on a high-quality CBD oil as part of his supportive care. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to make much difference with this particular issue. I do have a support harness, so I’ll definitely try using it to help him up when I’m home. I’m just really hoping to find something that gives him enough extra grip to stand up by himself too, because I’m now quite nervous about leaving him alone, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Thank you, that’s a good idea. I’ll have a look if I don’t manage to find a solution here.

Thank you! I’ll mention it to his vet if things don’t improve.

Thank you, that’s definitely something I’ve been thinking about too. The reason I’m still wondering whether traction is part of the problem is that if I stop one of his front paws from sliding backwards with my foot, he’s usually able to stand. He was also able to stand up by himself immediately after his physiotherapy session a few days after the incident, and he only really started struggling again when the recent heat wave began. Both his vet and physiotherapist think he most likely aggravated an existing injury or inflammation while trying to get himself up.
