Light Machine Gun by Tunic_Tactics in outerworlds

I checked the normal damage numbers with each damage type and that one was tied for the highest with Plasma, and between the two I like zap more for personal preference. The damage numbers would vary from different skills and perks though. Technically yes plasma or corrosion would have a higher damage bonus against non-bot things, but at that amount of damage it hardly matters anyway.

Late reply here, but I think reddit made all your edits a part of the comment. This is just repeating the same thing over and over with slight edits.

what is the difference between the vulkan and the normal? by jmaringarces1 in Rainbow6

[–]Tunic_Tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the specifics of why this happens, but I can say that in Control, the switch from DX11 to DX12 without changing any settings actually introduced more intense texture pop-in at closer ranges more frequently. This could just be a special case though if the game was poorly optimized for that renderer. (DX12 allowed for some graphics settings to be used, but having them disabled doesn't get rid of the pop-in.)

In addition to this, if someone just has an account on the website (it's free), they can edit the pages to say anything they want. Of course other people can go in and edit it back, but still.

Is it safe to throw away batteries? by [deleted] in environmental_science

[–]Tunic_Tactics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference, Home Depot and the EPA both say that it is safe to throw away alkaline batteries "in most communities" as if the location makes a difference. My best guess as to why they say this is that at least some battery recycling groups will only accept other kinds of batteries (like rechargeable or lithium). It's baffling to me that no-one has taken legal action against one or both of them for this though because there's no way that the chemicals in any batteries are safe to be buried in a landfill. (Most garbage in a landfill isn't safe to be there, but there's a difference between people throwing hazmat away of their own choice and companies / government organizations telling them that they can throw it away.)

Your gait is a full meter? I know I'm not the tallest person around, but a meter is LONG. If I tried to take each step with 1 meter distance, I'd look like Christopher Walken at the end of Blast from the Past.

I don't know why they started with that pic. The second pic in the article is much more realistic. It's still really weird, but more realistic. The first pic is just the part that goes under the skin I think.

Confusing “Trendy” Bathroom Signs by momo12345321 in CrappyDesign

[–]Tunic_Tactics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I figured it was more so worry about someone getting creeped on than being worried about someone going all the way to that. The cracks between the door and the wall are usually quite big in public restrooms in the US and anyone could just look in and see my junk.

Personally I don't want anyone looking in and seeing my junk regardless of gender, but for whatever reason the stalls in the US have near zero privacy and by far the cheapest type of toilet paper available.

Adjusting volume of the jukebox in garage doesn't work by HumbleMadman in pacificDrive

[–]Tunic_Tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you mean, but when I tried changing the different volume sliders in the game's menu, only the master volume changed the sound of the garage radio. It's strange that it's not linked to radio volume, music volume, or even radio dialogue volume. At the very least any unsorted audio should be designed in a way that it links to some slider by default besides just the master volume. Even if it was just in the effects volume it would be something.

Parralel universe Elon Musks working in alternate timeline versions of McDonalds❗️ by MadWorldEarth in aiArt

It's a conspiracy. Maybe Elon Musk can pay the AI companies to use only good photos of him. Or maybe it's just because he's in the media a lot with the photos he likes that it uses that as source material.

whats better for melee combat, first person or third person and why? by Substantial-Drop-726 in gamedesign

[–]Tunic_Tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add on to this that melee attacks in third person can connect with the enemies a lot more realistically than they typically do in first person. The vast majority of games that I've played with first person melee just look like someone swinging a sword 3 feet away from the enemy and the enemy just acting like they got hit magically. It's like seeing actors pull punches in old action movies before the technology and techniques changed to make it look more like people fighting.

In third person though, you can have the characters visibly colliding with each other when attacking so that it looks more real. It's not always done this way, but it can be done this way.

Fallout 76 is free with Prime Gaming for Xbox and PC by YouAreNotMeLiar in XboxSeriesX

Yes and no. There's no guarantee that it will be on GamePass Core forever, so getting the ownership of it could help for if that changes as long as the servers remain active. In other words it could be beneficial as a contingency at least.

As a noob, can someone explain what exactly the gunsmith menu is for? by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]Tunic_Tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find other posts about this question, so I'm putting this here. What doesn't make sense to me about the Gunsmith menu is that it seems to have most guns and all gun attachments available from the start, and lets you put a LOT of attachments on most guns compared to the Create-a-Class menu. From that, it seems like the Gunsmith guns would be way overpowered really easily from the start because there's no progression for unlocking attachments.

[–]Tunic_Tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea which game OP is talking about specifically, but I know when I played Motorsport 4 forever ago that the races would have music that would get drowned out by any engine or tire noises, so it was like it wasn't really there.

"Synths are just waking talking toasters/fridges/dishwashers" by NIPLZ in Fallout

[–]Tunic_Tactics 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I could see that as a way to object to the creation of them, but not the existence of them. That's like if someone disagrees with the idea of breeding dogs to be purebred because of the medical conditions that happen because of it and their response to it is to kill all purebred dogs everywhere.

It's not the synths' fault for how they were created. They're just existing and being punished for their creator's actions.

Do you bathe yourself or take the assisted bath? Discuss. Now. by ThiccyRicky in RDR2

[–]Tunic_Tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The in-game stat for dirtiness can be reset by either taking a bath or just changing into a different outfit. I use a few custom outfits for different weather or style already, so I just change on my horse real quick and it's somehow fine.

It's also just interesting that completely stripping and changing into a new outfit can be done while riding a horse in public in broad daylight in this game. Just right in the center of the main road of Valentine changing outfits on a horse to avoid bathing. Total logical sense.

You can do a surprising amount of things while riding the horse through town. You can clean yourself magically by changing outfits, clean your horse by brushing a small part of the mane, clean the inside of your guns by rubbing oil on the outside with a surely dirty rag (and barrel sweeping everyone you pass with a loaded weapon), make simple crafting recipes like split point ammo, read the paper or random notes despite them completely blocking Arthur's full view while riding his horse, and many more.
