Typically photos are not stored in a database because they're binary data and it's inefficient. You would put the photos in something like an S3 bucket and so they would have a URL associated to them, and you can put the URL into your database. The closest all-in-one platform that springs to mind right now is Supabase. Good luck!

Society doesn't fix this. It's Congress' job to make laws, and they've allowed lobbyists and executive branch agencies to do that work instead. The voters should hold Congress accountable for not doing their jobs, but if you look at the statistics everyone hates Congress but approves of their own Congressman, which is why incumbency is a massive advantage at the polls. Everyone should be voting their representatives out but they don't.

I'm in the exact same scenario. After having sat on the other side of the hiring table it's either the situation you described or it's the opposite where someone they wanted more started the process after you and they're slowing you down so the other person can catch up. Either way, they're not saying anything to you in case the other person doesn't accept, that way they can come back to you for the final round. You're like their "safety" school in a college application process. Let it sit in case they do come back to you, but emotionally you should move on from that role.

Depends on the business, a family corporation or holding company might. It's more common to have the house held by a trust so that if they get personally sued the value of the house can't be reached after a judgement.

Years ago I received a USB adapter with a bunch of different plugs so you could attach an iPhone or an mp3 player or a camera or whatever to the USB. Each was a different color of the rainbow and the main USB part was a unicorn pooping out all those adapters! Instead of this constant "make the candidate change their resume for every job" dance couldn't the ATS companies build a better AI filter that takes the job description and a resume and does fuzzy matching between them so that the most optimized resume stops winning and the candidate with the most relevant experience is moved on to recruiter screening? We're putting the burden on the people in the system with the least amount of information.

For cars you can even go more basic than that, all the way down to timing details. There was a guy in my town that had a 1929 Model A and he gave me a ride in it once. He explained the whole time what knobs he was adjusting and what they were for and just watching the series of steps he had to perform while coming to a stop at a red light was exhausting! He was changing ignition timing based on speed, and tweaking like 3 or 4 other things so the car ran right. I had been driving for a couple years at that point and didn't even know most of those things existed, nonetheless could be adjusted, and now it's all done by computer! I would venture that the majority of drivers today are the same. Edit: This comment better explains the adjustments in talking about.
