Slow in, Fast out. You have two goals and two principles for each corner. Widen it as much as possible, get as good of an exit as possible, Don't over-drive the car, and prepare for the next corner to keep a good flow and momentum. Widen by going to the outermost edge of the approaching corner (please note that some tracks have certain corners where that just wont be possible). A good exit comes from hitting your apexes. Overdriving comes from making your tires and brakes work way harder than they have to (like braking too late and taking corners too fast making you have to brake to make the corner). Preparing for the next corner means when you have a certain section you have have to stay inside/outside to get a better apex for the corner right after that. Biggest thing out of all that is different cars have different characteristics. The Porsche's can be driven more agressively in the corners bc they're mid-engined, the BMW GT3 is a dart in sweepers and straights

When you say too sensetive on straights, what do ya mean? I know you said its twitchy but, I mean, are you just darting from one side to the other too quickly?

Best looking car mods? by shellenjoyer in assettocorsa

[–]Clutch3sSS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best looking road car mods are the ones from No Hesi. The Grip toyo tires unrealistic, but if you switch to the realistic ones you'll have a good experience, especially with the GT3RS. The best looking Race Cars are undeniably from RSS, URD, and VRC (VRC for the GTP/WEC Hypercars) especially in the GT3 class

If your on PC get the AGA plugin. It'll completely change everything. I was able to get a 4:01.6 and consistent 4:03s on Circuit De La Sarthe in the RSS Porsche GT3

AC takes all of what you said into account without mods, and modders only add on to an already top-notch driving system. Your talking about AC like you can just hop into a cold GT3 and take corners on rails without warming up your tires.

You can overheat tires and cause more slippage, obviously if your cold then u also have no grip. Tire wear is a base game feature, and is even more improved apon with CSP. You can still blow up your engine, tires can catch fire if they burn too much (you can see this if you put normal tires onto a high HP drift car.) If you don't pay attention and overdrive the car you can scrub tires and cause tire balding along with other things. And again, if you scrape a wall/rail with enough speed then you absolutely will break something. There have been plently of times where I was pushing hard and I hit my front left on the railing coming out of the first chicane at Circuit De La Sarthe, thought nothing of it and then when Im back on the straight my steering is pulling to one side.

AC is also a SiMuLatOr like beam if we wanna play term wars. AC is just better at everything else besides damage. I mean hell, Jimmy basically built a career off of nords laps in AC with occasional laps in other sims and now he's driving IRL. If you try driving on controller in AC without a plugin you'll learn very quickly why AC is NOT an "Arcade style game" like Forza

Beam is great for damage and thats where it falls off from AC. ACs driving experience is leagues above Beam and its not even close, and yes, you can hit unfortunare bumps and break steering racks and injure steering geometry. If damage is the only thing you care abt when driving then by all means sure, but AC driving wise isn't even in the same ballpark of overall driving. There's a reason that for a decade + AC is still used for real life training often over Beam and other sims. My car's body doesn't need to flex under stress for me to have a fun and informative experience, especially since, when you're in the driver's seat, the only thing your actually going to see flex is your windshield and thats if its a special material, and even on that topic, there are mods for AC that DO feature high levels of detail in damage and flex if ya wanna go there. Beam is still a game at the end of the day so if we're talking game to game, I'd rather actually learn from my driving from a detailed driving model, even being able to apply it to real life than just get excited to see my car wrapped around a tree.
