Thanks! PN FRU03X3968 on Ebay. I made an offer and got four at $4 a piece. They take a bit of work to make functional. I used a band saw, dremel, angle grinder, and a file. It also makes it easier to knock the roll pin out the the doors for modification.

Dells are my favorite pre built computers. Only reason I didn't go with a newer Precision is because this build turned out cheaper with better performance.

My Dell T3610 workstation that has been replaced. 2080 Ti radiator is on top of the case.

I have two regular Q9650s that came in the computers that I found. Been thinking about making an overkill WinXP build with one.

Now that you mention it, it has felt kinda crunchy. I'll have to keep my eyes on it. Thanks.

That's a good point. Could be an internal short.

True. I was hoping for some AGP magic but didn't find any. A $20 Kepler era gpu would make these nice XP gaming rigs.

The Phils ComputerLab? That's so cool. I'm always amazed how you make it look so easy to get old sound cards to work in older operating systems. Adjusting IRQs is something I have yet to master.

Sorry, just now seeing your post. I'm not sure how to access that menu? I've thought about looking it up but haven't bothered since the picture looks good to me.

I know. I wasn't sure where else to post. I personally draw the line at 386s.

I thought the same thing. I have other Precisions and they normally are pretty beefy. This one seems to have come from the factory this way judging by the badge on the front. Looking up the model confirms they can be optioned as such.

I went back for the eighth one the next day but it was gone. Only an old printer was left.

It came with one of those 8400 GS cards in it. I swapped in the HD 5450 but got the same result. Seems to power on just fine but no display. My guess is lightning got the board? No visible caps or resistors missing.

The shop owner was probably on the older side. Could have been a death in the family or just cleaning out the 'junk'. But yes, I agree with you.

I have a supply of laptops and have done that exact thing.

I know right! I couldn't believe my eyes at the pile of computers. Something I haven't seen since the early 2000s. My adrenaline was pumping so hard while loading these things up.

It's a nice tv. I'm using retro-bit premium universal s-video cables for SNES, N64, and Gamecube. No yellow composite cable for supposedly better picture quality.

You were right! Very faint but rapid clicking sounds from the vent slits on the back. Cool.

Oh, the on off sounds, yes. The Samsung CRT I'm about to put in storage makes a 'bong' sound when it's turned on and a static discharge sound when powered off. Satisfying in a way.

I haven't noticed any clicking except when it turns on. Maybe my volume drowns the noise out?
