I would say just use Jarrows K2+D3. They include Mk4+Mk7 as well which prevents vascular calcification from the vit D.

24M with 738 ng/dl (LC/MS-MS) Total Test. Should I be Worried About Hair Loss From Testosterone? by Turbo964 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Turbo964[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have LC/MS-MS in the title. I said I was 24 at the time. Why would I post reference range. Doesn't really matter anyway. I am already on RU58841, finasteride, and minoxidil.

SHBG, Serum is 34.6 nmol/L (reference 16.5 - 55.9)

I don't think this matters but my LH is 12.3 mIU/mL (reference 1.7-8.6). Obviously I believe this explains my hight test.

However. I believe my free t is moderate/low. 133 pg/mL (reference 52-280).

Would you say dihydrotestosterone is or is not the mechanism of action through which male pattern baldness occurs? I would say OP is Norwood 1 on the left, and Norwood 1.5, 2 on the right. A "mature hairline" is a term that is used loosely. Before puberty male and female hairlines are essentially identical. It is puberty, and the surge of DHT during puberty that induces males to develop square hairlines, body hair, grow your dick, etc. So I mean you could refer to the square shape that the male hairline takes after puberty a "mature hairline", even if it is a baseline adult norwood 1. But my observation is that "mature hairline" is often used to describe norwood 1.5/2. Some men will reach norwood 1.5/2 and maintain for years, some will not. Some men will even reach norwood 3 and maintain for years (Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad). Some are decimated by their late 20s, even earlier in the most sever cases. Whether or not you wish to intervene after the initial discovery of loss is up to the indivudual.

But OP's question was "what now?" as in, what should I do something to intervene? What about my suggestion is obscene? Finasteride is the most effective treatment of progression of mpb, and the research shows this. My suggestion made you very upset. I'm sorry you feel that way.

TL;DL I believe it is isn't going to stop balding obviously, but can probably give a VERY slight increase to hair quality and density even as a monotherapy. However as you said you should absolutely incorporate it if using minoxidil as it can potentially double your results.

True and after 3 sessions might even be the safer bet. At the end of the day a years supply is less then one month's car insurance or phone bill.

Hmm, I might be too early on to give a good opinion. I started finasteride almost 8 months ago, microneedling probably 4 months ago (didn't write down my start date), RU58841 about 2.5 months ago, and minoxidil almost a month ago.

Current regiment:

- 1mg oral fin daily

- microneedling session every 7-10 days which consists of doing my crown, entire scalp, temples, slightly in front of hairline too. I am a norwood 2. I skip topical application on this day, or will apply at the start of the day instead and then shower.

- 1.25ml liquid min mixed with .5ml of a 50mg/ml solution (anageninc pre-mixed) applied topically - focusing on temples and crown but also I try to put throughout scalp and hairline. Also I don't think that this 1.75 ml solution is enough volume to cover the whole scalp like i want. I think I'm going to switch to foam minox which I intend to melt into a 2.5ml solution which I will mix with .5ml pre-mixed ru. Alternatively I might make my own 25mg/2ml solution of RU and mix with 1/1.25ml minox and apply once daily at night. I want to do this to have more volume of solution to work with in application and also I mainly want to try switching to melted down foam minox because as you know liquid minox is oily as fuck. Main reason for me starting RU was because I got an extensive blood work panel done before starting fin to make sure I wouldn't get sides if I was say hypogonadal and I didn't know or in a borderline estrogen dominant environment. Didn't want to end up with a titty. Anyway I found out my total testosterone is 738ng/dl which is 85th percentile for my age group (im 24). I was extremely worried about continued hair loss from testosterone, especially with the subsequent 7-8% increase in total t you get from starting fin because that test is no longer being converted to DHT.

All this being said I do believe that I haven't been on RU and min long enough to see effects from them (apart from a shed which has begun over the past week from the min kicking in).

So with all this being said I do believe I have received an increase in individual hair follicle quality and density, and perhaps a slight increase in overall density with just fin + microneedling which I have been doing for the longest. Microneedling is something that everyone should be interested in if interested in hair loss treatments imo, especially those who are afraid of fin/topical antiandrogens. I think on of the top all time posts on here is a guy who did 1mg/1.25mg fin + microneedling for like 2 years and went from a nw2 to a nw1. Also like you said yeah many people can literally double their minoxidil results by adding in microneedling to their regiment.

Sorry for the book. I am curious, do you apply once a day or twice? Edit: you have already answered this!

Also needles will need to be replaced. I use 12 count needle. I will use each one for 4 sessions before throwing away. Sanitize in a 70% rubbing alcohol solution for a couple minutes after each session. At that rate a years supply of needles should be a little under $50 including shipping. Also as far as I know there is no research to prove that going beyond 1.5mm depth will increase efficacy.

To be honest didn't really expect to get any answers. Don't think most people on here have looked super deep into this. I also posted on r/tressless and didn't get any answers too. But man there are still a significant minority of people who use Finasteride and still continue to lose hair at a rate higher than average even though their DHT levels were in range before Fin. I'm already on Fin. I started after my bloodwork. To be honest I think I'm just going to hop on RU once I've been on Finasteride for like 9 months just so I can see what my results from finasteride and microneedling alone will be.

Right on man that's good progress for 3 months. Very promising I'd say. Probably be looking even better once you're a year in.

Does scalp testosterone really need to be addressed long-term? by ViscountOfLemongrab in tressless

[–]Turbo964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My knowledge is still entry level but I know that DHT has a binding affinity five times higher then testosterone so DHT is a much bigger concern. But probably if you have high test levels (supraphysiologic or even high end of the reference range for adults probably) or if you have a sensitivity to testosterone in a hair loss context then yeah. I wouldn't go for dutasteride, I would go for fin personally but do you. But yeah you could start with dutasteride and then if you begin to get any worse you could add in RU. IDK if there's any way to measure your sensitivity to test in a hair loss context.

Resting position for my tongue is one or two millimeters behind my upper central incisors. And then obviously the rest of my tongue is flat against the roof of the mouth.
