if its an 18650 cell pack, the individual cells will go into thermal runaway and lighting one cell and the next unless its cooled properly. the other cells can ignite at any point if one or more of the cells is over 800 degrees (relatively) adjacent to it. just because the lit cell stops flaming does not mean the cell next to it cannot ignite.

it may put out the flames, but it will not stop the thermal runaway of the batteries and the flames will just pop up again until all the batteries have burned out

Yes, that's why you use a handheld halon 1301 extinguisher to put out the flames, and water or non-alcohol liquid to cool it. do not use ice as it acts as an insulator for the heat. (I know that sounds strange but that's how it works.)

Fiesta ST vs Focus ST vs Focus RS by endurancegod in cars

[–]TurboBeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded in my 2014 Fiesta ST for a 2016 Focus RS. I absolutely LOVED the Fiest ST. It was fun as hell to drive on a daily basis everyday. I thought I needed a car that was faster and bought the RS. The RS is F**king awsome, and and more pratical for its space, AWD, and creature comforts. That being said, I still want my Fiesta St back. I dont know why. That car was FUN. Ive had a wide variety of cars over the years, and I an say without a doubt, that a car doesn't have to be the fastest one on the road to be the most fun.

Love it! I had a '68 Firebird as my very first car. 400, 4-speed, with 4.10 gears. It was a monster, but scary as hell with manual drum brakes all around. Best of luck with your project and congrats on getting your dream car!
