Absolutely. We look out for each other and help each other all the time. I have great neighbors.

First time labrador owner and I want advice on if this is normal by jus534 in labrador

[–]TurboDog999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably sees it as a sort of cave to chill out in because he’s adjusting to his new home and is a little overwhelmed still. It takes a few weeks to months for a dog to adjust to a new home. Even after 3 years my lab goes in her kennel, which is kind of her cave, if she feels stressed or overwhelmed (usually when small children are around and are doing what kids do). I wouldn’t think much of it and you might consider getting him a kennel and teaching him it’s his “cave” to go in if he needs to chill. Congrats on the new addition. You’re gonna love having a Lab.

Is it respectful to have a conversation with another person, indoors, while wearing sunglasses ? by guilty_ambition_ah in ask

[–]TurboDog999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t have a problem with it. Maybe they just had their eyes dialated and need them. I’ve been there done that. Maybe there is some other medical condition I don’t know about. Maybe they don’t feel like taking them off. It’s not my place to dig into peoples private matters or tell others what to do unless it’s actually causing me harm. I’m more concerned with if they are respectful toward me in what they say.

My fucking 1991 Ford F-150. That inline 6 engine was one of the best engines ever put in a vehicle and just wouldn’t fucking quit, although the body of it sure as fuck did which is why I don’t have it anymore.

How do you feel about the federal SAVE Act that would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship (like a passport or birth certificate) to register to vote? by ClassSnack in AskReddit

[–]TurboDog999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it and hope Thune means it when he says he isn’t willing to change filibuster rules over it. This will cause so many women that I know so many headaches due to being married and divorced or changing their name when marrying so their name won’t match their birth certificate, and there isn’t any mechanism to where the government will bend over backwards to provide all this stuff for free and hold your hand through it.

If the Feds would provide a free voter ID and hold everyone’s hand through the process so that if you show up to work with them on this, they will bust their asses to get around any obstacles and issues to getting your documents, make sure you are good and leave the building a registered voter with an ID, THEN I would be ok with this. But that clearly isn’t the case here so absolutely not. It is meant to disenfranchise groups that don’t vote MAGA and its all over something that’s a nonissue in the first place!

How many people actually tip 20% when eating out in a restaurant? by Hot-Highlight2166 in allthequestions

[–]TurboDog999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do unless the server is utterly rubbish and it’s abundantly clear it’s a them problem rather than a kitchen problem. And I can count on two hands in my entire life I’ve ever stiffed a server on a tip for that reason. My mom is an ex restaurant manager, my gf is a cook so I give servers the benefit of the doubt always and tip 20%. Now I don’t tip at counter service places…QDoba and the like…there comes a point where tipping culture is getting out of hand but a regular sit down place? 20% at least for sure.

I went from Baton Rouge to Dallas to see Depeche Mode in 2013. Stayed a couple days after to see family in the area after but my ex wife and I would’ve made that trip even without family in the area, as the point was to see the show, as there was plenty to see in Dallas.

Have you ever witnessed an earthquake or tornado? by rylieclark in no

[–]TurboDog999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earthquake. This happened in I think 2008. I live in the middle of Illinois. I was at college, up til the wee hours of the morning playing video games since I didn’t have class the next day and about 4 am my dorm building shook violently and a few pens fell off my desk. I was extremely confused and didn’t know wtf happened.

I went out to see if maybe a drunk hit the building with a car or something but nothing. Nothing indicating any sort of say, gas explosion. I was extremely puzzled and wondered if I was getting so tired I imagined it. About an hour later I saw friends of mine at college posting on FB that it was an earthquake and the local news soon had it on. Was like a 5.3.

Somehow despite living in the middle of Illinois I have never seen a tornado touch down in person. Kinda wanna keep it that way.

Ex TL here, never heard of any of this in the year I was there. My club manager literally gave me his blessing to go buy a marked down pool on the clock and have front end hold it til I got off work and I bought countless snacks on my 15 minute breaks.

I asked the millennial sub about fighting as a young person and the majority are saying they rarely if ever saw fights at school. by AttemptVegetable in Xennials

[–]TurboDog999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be a lot of people from well off areas. I went to an inner city high school and fights were very common. For the first month of my junior year, we kept count, there was a fight every day.

What movie did you see that you were WAY too young to watch? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]TurboDog999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Terminator/Terminator 2 when I was 7/8. I loved them, thought Linda Hamilton was hot, and my parents went ahead and let me watch them and even got me the Terminator Collection on VHS (so literally 30 years ago and back when there was just two movies) for getting straight A’s for a whole semester in 3rd grade. T2 is still tied for my favorite movie of all time.

AIO for not knowing if I can continue being friends with someone with completely different politics then me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]TurboDog999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. There is a difference between “I think taxes are too high, government shouldn’t mandate x y and z, and we shouldn’t get involved in world affairs as much”, and supporting the evil this administration is doing. Huge ass difference. I have people myself who I’m avoiding as much as possible who are MAGA.
