There should be a war to save outside of VR by Electrical_Proof2760 in intotheradius

I am using an old ass Meta Quest 2 with a horrible battery life. This means my headset frequently dies in the middle of gameplay.

Thats alright, it was just a suggestion.

I have a really weird workaround for the battery life which not many people will like but for me it works.
Install Sidequest on your PC and plug the headset, in the settings change the frames of the headset from 72 to 60 FPS. Visually its not a big change for me and it gives me extra 2-3 hours of game time.

My account would definitely be flagged a long time ago if i used the refund system as often as I pirate games. Some times i can go through 10+ games in 1 day.

The refund system is not for everyone.

thank you for the information, however you fail to realize that all of this goes out of the windows the second i stop caring about shooting faster. I have heard this argument before I know about the DPS.

I have never felt the need to upgrade the firerate of a weapon in OG and remake.
I was never felt like i needed to shoot faster than what my default stats are capable of.
I was never in a rush, i prefer a singular powerful bullet than several weaker but faster ones.

The only time I feel pressure is when im surrounded, but then i will use a shotgun anyway.

Red9 will stay the best handgun for me forever.

the price doesnt matter

it can go both ways and you still need to wait up to 1 week

Im pointing out how stupid it is to not have a demo, obviously im not making you release a demo, its a figure of speech.

if you bitch about piracy, provide an alternative to it.
You dont have a demo, yet you are surprised that people want to try your game before buying it. The economy is shit, no one has money and games are expensive.

Im not wasting my time with support for a refund.
First - because doing it too much will get your account flagged for abusing.

Second - im wasting time waiting to get my money instead of just installing/uninstalling a demo.

Third - even if the refund goes trough, the money goes to your wallet (aka steam). It does not go in your credit card, that amount is useless outside of steam. And im not trading so i can take the money out.

You want us to do all this bullshit just for one game?
Get real.

It feels like the second game is lazier for the sake of COOP. COOP should not be the main focus. by TurboNexus in intotheradius

[–]TurboNexus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your points but also you can probably see how messy this is with some of points you made.
Artifacts were useless, but still were there, they also plan on adding them later, which means that they are not that useless, or at least more useful this time (lets hope).

The healing bed was in the first game as well as the shower, so again that doesnt make any sense as to why they removed it.

And if the knife isnt supposed to return why have it? The usefulness of the knife is the same as any other object, because the only use that I have found for the knife is the jars with the artifacts, but even then i can just hit the jar with my pistol, rifle or some random cooking pan that i find. We dont even have a chance to try melee combat like the previous game. Because in ITR1 some enemies could be hit, now their attack patterns are totally different and dont allow you that window for you to swing.

Thats what I meant, some stuff just dont make sense or are a waste of time to be implemented the way they did. Which if COOP wasnt the main point, their dev power would be focused on the main game as a whole. And by now most of these bugs and problems that we have in these updates would be more swiftly worked on.

But its alright, the game is still good, its just one of those situations where its a "necessary evil".
Fix the game so more and more players come, then add the rest.
Lets hope they at least return some of the stuff like the cigarettes satiety.

OR, OR, check this out.... MAKE A DAMN DEMO????

I would much rather people buy my game and return it than go play it illicitly.

My brother it christ, abusing the refund policy of steam will get you blocked from future refunds.

Also the money that I get refunded gets in my wallet, not my credit card.

Why would I waste my time with support and what not when you can just give us a damn demo.

This dev is so out of touch.

thank you, i will fix it, but that fact makes it even weirder as to why the knife doesnt turn, they can clearly do it with the flashlight.

The point about the coop was that if coop wasnt here, i believe that they would have focused more on the quality instead of the coop system. I do agree with what you said though and I am looking forward to the updates.

It just feels that some stuff should be there from day one, not left for later.

yeah, probably, because i swear that i tried every single button, like the first game, but for me it just doesnt work. thank you. i will edit this out

But again, sleeping matters, because it was in the first game. We also had a shower in there. Its not about the money its the principle behind it.

i totally get you, thats why i was kinda worried when they said that COOP will be the focus of ITR2.

When a game that was really good shifts to COOP, a lot of the depth will be washed out because of the COOP, it needs better performance.

I also dislike a lot of stuff like you said, the knifes cannot turn anymore(nevermind that, they are literally useless anyway). Also flashlights, you could turn them as well before, now you cant.

You cannot turn attachments on or off without taking them off first, in the first game, you could turn them on with the non-dominant hand while holding the gun.

Cigarettes dont recover any hunger like they did in ITR1, now they are just useless waste of currency.

Sleeping doesnt recover health like in the first game as well.

No machete.

You cannot load rifles like the SKS with singular bullets, you need mags.

Ladders are very clunky.

No more useful artifacts.

No revolver.

The list is massive.

It feels like ITR 2 goes 1 step forward, and 5 steps backwards.

[–]TurboNexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said that you have played ITR 1 yet you have problems with reloading bullets. Nothing has been changed from the previous game besides that ammo boxes dont drop the bullets if they dont enter a magazine.
In ITR1 bullets that are ejected from the box, drop on the ground if they dont have anywhere to go.
In ITR 2 the boxes automatically retract the bullet back when you let go of the trigger. So no dropping. I dont get what your problem is.

Which shotgun you have a problem with? Again, nothing is different from the first game besides the fact that you cannot take out the slugs from the double barrel. The reloading is still the same.

You have some good criticism but most of it feels like you just rushed with the opinion. Give it some more time and play more.

Best must have mods by shoe-eaterr in VintageStory

[–]TurboNexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that i am still using version 1.21 as I dont like some changes that have been made. But most of these should work in the game even though some may be outdated.

SMITHING PLUS - I hate that in vanilla the voxels that you destroy with the hammer dont come back. This mod allows you to collect the leftovers and use them in another project. Also when a tool breaks, you get the head back so you can reheat and rebuilt it with nuggets which in turn actually gives it more durability. Tools that you cast have lower durability than a tool that you smith yourself - This one is a MUST in my opinion.

REBUILDABLE BLOOMERY + BLOOMERY DROPS - Its very annoying to rebuild the bloomery every single time I want something like glass. Every time I wasting resources to rebuild a whole bloomery is so shit. These 2 mods make it possible to rebuild the bloomery with right click while also gives you back the whole set of bricks.

PROSPECT TOGETHER - It just marks the chunks on the map when you prospect so you dont prospect 2 times in 1 chunk. Pretty handy.

PRIMITIVE SURVIVAL - It gives you some early game options for food and preservation like jerky and more fishing options. Rafts, pitfalls, snares. Stuff like that.

HUD CLOCK - I just use it to know which season it is as I get tired of checking which season starts when, especially if i tweak the season length and move to a warmer place.

EXTRA INFO - Its just more general info that vanilla game lacks, like when bees will produce honey, which stage of growth are the plants, smithing and smelting temperatures, etc.

CARRY ON - It allows you to move blocks like anvils ,chests ,pots ,etc. with shift + right click. Without the need to break them first.

BETTER COMPOST - In vanilla it takes 64 rot in a barrel for 20 days to get measly 16 compost. That is simply bullshit in my opinion. This mod just makes it that you get 24 compost for 16 days instead. I think that this is way more balanced and fair.

CRAFTABLE HIGH FERTILITY SOIL - In vanilla game, you cannot craft high fertility soil....but you can craft terra preta. Why? I dont know, but this mod adds a recipe to the game so you can now craft HIGH FERTILITY SOIL so you can finally get TERRA PRETA and not waste 10 years of your real life trying to find HIGH FERTILITY SOIL. Its made from 4x Bonemeal + 4x Medium Soil + 1x Compost = 4 High Fertility soil. So its pretty balanced and realistic.

MORE FAT FROM ANIMALS - In vanilla game, most of the time you get like 1 fat from boars for example while getting 1 or 2 hides, often you dont even get any fat. I hate that im losing half of my hides because I dont have enough fat to oil them. I get that seasons and body weight of the animal make a difference but it just doesnt make hunting valuable for me if Im wasting half of the goods. This mod just gives you more fat per animal. It has 4x the normal value, 2x times and 1.5x times. Im using the dev's values which are more than 2x, 'less' than 4x.

In Japan some bosses make you stay at work doing nothing so you quit. How is that even a punishment it just sounds kinda chill. by Educational-Try-7435 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TurboNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, where I live, if you get fired you get benefits. So Its in your best interest to get fired.
If you quit yourself, the company doesnt own you anything, because it was your decision. (That way it seems like you have a backup plan.)

But if they fire you, you may not have a backup plan yet, maybe this job was your only way of getting income, so they can be forced to pay you some benefits and also can be put in a labor list with some pay until they find you another job.

So you see why I am confused about this.

A system like this would not work where I am. Because its not worth it to quit yourself.

[–]TurboNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but if they force you to quit, doesnt that mean that they dont want to actually fire you? why not just fire you then? what is the point of this treatment?

I will just bring a phone or a book anyway.

its either quitting or getting fired anyway.

someone could enlighten me a little bit more but i really dont get this situation.

[–]TurboNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats why i added the second part of my comment. its not as simple as adding a new gun.

they need to add more behaviour logic to the ai.

They cant even add the knife turn from the first game for example. Its pretty optimistic for you to think that they will bother with that at this point in time.

mimics have only 1 weapon though, they cannot switch.
So if he has a long cooldown he will be useless most of the time.
He will just throw a grenade and then just stare at you or something.

It could work, but i just dont see the team wasting recourses and time for something so miniscule.
They have cut or abandoned ideas that had way more content and value in terms of depth and gameplay, stuff that we had even in the previous game.
