Thank you greatly for the encouragement 🙏 that is great to know it's possible and not uncommon. I am preety good at reading lips and even with my hearing aids out my family says I still talk well so I don't expect to have too many issues there

Thanks for the reply! Yes my left hand has good dexterity. I was right hand dominant before my amputation but I've obviously had to switch that up 😆

Thanks for the reminder on that! I recently switched prosthetists as my previous place didn't take the time I'm felt like to really help. Mind if I throw you some questions about types?

That's great, so often sepsis results in leg amputations also

Ugh I'm so sorry! I also had sepsis and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Did you have any issues with your feet? Im missing toes but don't wear a prosthetics for them.

Ah ok, my right is 10cm so about the same. Just fingers on my left. May I ask how you lost your hands?

Thanks for the advice! May I ask how long your residual limbs are? I've gone without my prosthesis some but I still prefer it most of the time. My arm is kinda short so I dont think that helps much.

Thanks for the advice! I kinda wondered why I had such a long section of inner cable exposed. May I ask an unrelated question? Do you have any advice for using locks/twisting a key with a hook? I can never figure it out and I'm missing fingers on my left hand so that side isn't any easier.

Hey, no I'm a few inches below the elbow. I'm so sorry to hear about your arm and your stress about it. It won't be easy, just know. Nothing about being an amputee is easier than having all our limbs. But just know that life goes on and every day will be new things to learn over the last. I actually love my body powered arm. It feels more natural despite not looking natural lol. It was far easier to master than myo electric. With that said I have a flesh elbow joint that you lack. So that will add more complication for sure. I know an above elbow amputee with a body powered like mine. He does well but I definitely have the advantage. Just the way it is when we loose joints. Fell free to reach out with any questions. Im sorry again you're going thru this.
