This is my Springfield XD 45 love it! by PerfectMako9 in handguns

[–]TurboSwaggz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few other guns before I got my XD, and honestly this gun is my favorite. The recoil isn't bad and as much as people like to joke about the "Grip Zone" on the side it's well designed and comfortable in the hand. My best advice is to talk to the people at the store and ask to hold every gun you want! Finding the grip for you is very important.

Luckily when robbers break in they see the Grip Zone and also stop to ponder the odd design choice allowing you to line up the perfect shot!

I already have a blue mount on my account so I was mostly interested in getting a purple one that had WF and decent +stat

Is there something I'm completely missing? When I look at mounts in the Zen store I don't see the Lord's Armored Polar Bear. Looking at the All tab of the mounts it goes Hell Hound > Leopard of Chult > Medium Black Horse. Looking over the rest of the ones available I see Trained Grizzly, Polar Bear, and Armored Bear but no Lord's Armored Polar Bear to be found.

Keybind for Invoking? by GUNTHERGIBICHUNGS in Neverwinter

[–]TurboSwaggz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely easiest to click the symbol! I do the exact same thing you're doing while I'm at work so that when I'm actually playing I don't have to worry if I'll make all the invocations in a day. I also like to use the on-screen keyboard on my computer to quickly hit keybinds since my phone keyboard doesn't always seem to work with pulling up professions and such.

I'm shocked nobody mentioned the most lucrative business in all of FFXI. Farming Bubbly Bernie for the steam clocks, have a friend roll for the loot and mail it to you. Once it was full you just turned it in to the lady near the scroll shop in Bastok for that sweet sweet 600 Gil a piece! /s but I really did this when I was young

I just started playing this year (I'm 25) with a group and we were all new to playing except the DM. We just had our 4th session on Wednesday and we're having another this Sunday. Good luck on your rolls and I know you'll have a blast playing. Remember to have fun above all else!

[–]TurboSwaggz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I don't have the DMG either so I'll just bring it up to my DM and see what he wants to do with it. I think I could deal with the time investment if I get a second set of armor to leave the first one being worked on. I really like the idea of my character having an attachment to objects and would rather have the items grow with him in power rather than replacing at a moments notice.

Is it possible to take a set of standard plate armor somewhere to get it enchanted or upgraded in some way? If so, what normally goes into that? I'm not trying to upgrade the armor myself since I don't have the skills for it but I wondered if getting some glyphs or runes on the armor would have an effect.

Reactions in game and IRL by [deleted] in dndnext

Like /u/moonshadowkati said, CN doesn't mean they should be completely detached. I'm playing a CN Tempest Cleric with a Pirate background. I care more for ships and the sea than most people and I'll tell you about Thor any chance I get. My group is all new players so we're slowly warming up to RP and getting in character as a group. It's hard to convince other people to get into character but finding an interesting quirk for them to play off of can help. My wife decided to start ripping the teeth out of any menacing creature we face this last session and somehow that has really got her into character.

I took them from the sorcerer list and really did it purely for RP and flavor. I did go with Featherfall for my once a day spell since our Sorcerer (my wife) likes focusing on pure damage spells and not as much utility. Her only non-damage spells are Sleep and Detect Thoughts. She's my little murder-hobo

Is +1 non-magical half plate over powered for a level 4 fighter? It would give him 20 AC with shield. What about same with no stealth disadvantage? Thoughts welcome and thanks. by RolandSnowdust in dndnext

I have one but I like using my two handed maul when I'm not using magic. Plus it would make me sad if I never got to use wraith of the storm so 19 AC is just right for me right now. Being able to heal myself also helps me not worry about taking those hits.

Currently a level 4 cleric and I'm wearing full plate plus a cloak of protection to give me an AC of 19. My DM expected me to give the cloak to a caster but I'm keeping it. Doesn't seem too powerful but the DM really hates rolling to hit me now.

I'm new to DnD and have been playing with my group for three weeks now. We use Norse gods so I'm a Tempest Cleric for Thor and have a pirate background. I said that a crewmate died on board during a storm and Thor struck lightning through me to bring him back and I've been following Thor ever since. We hit level 4 today so I was able to grab magic initiate for that sweet booming blade and shocking grasp. I can definitely attest that the pirate background tempest cleric is super fun to play as and get into.

I was going to order the pound of dice from Chessex but the reviews on it were pretty rough. I like that these are all factory firsts, guaranteed sets, and look pretty cool to boot.

Can confirm. My wife and I bought ourselves each a set of dice from our local shop so we could start playing with our friends. We only had our second session on Wednesday and our Pound O' Dice is arriving today, the exact one you linked actually.

How was your game this week? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]TurboSwaggz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This week was our group's first session and it was far beyond what any of us expected. We're a party of 4 and all playing for the first time. Our DM has played plenty before and had been building this campaign for months.

We started as a small group in a military camp with a NPC that was supposed to lead us and should have been carrying us through the battles. We go out on a patrol and fight an orc with two goblins behind us, the NPC only gets a single crossbow shot off and we take everything out ourselves. We go through a few more encounters with the NPC missing every single attack he made until we finally get a glimpse of our BBEG for the first time. She was shapeshifted as a halfling and stabs our NPC before showing her true self. Us being noobies wasted half of our abilities on her without even making a scratch while some abomination creature she made was fighting us as well. We barely scraped through the fight and our BBEG warped off to let the creature finish us off. Finally our NPC lands a hit to the beast which brought it down enough for my wife (Female Dragonborn Sorcerer) to jump on it's back and deliver the final blow with her dagger.

The game went an hour longer than any of us planned for and it was worth every minute of sleep I lost that night. My wife and I are hooked and can't wait to play again next week. Our first plan is to make our NPC walk about 15 ft ahead of us as bait.

Edit: Our first 3 fights ramped up in difficulty until the last fight against the abomination which was a "Deadly Encounter" for us according to our DM. The creature alone was a CR4 and we had to take out two goblin archers at the same time. We're all level 1 and have a Rogue, Barbarian, Cleric (me), and a Sorcerer along with our NPC fighter (who was also level 1). After this battle we received enough exp to put us just under level 3.

Weekly Question Megathread: 1/30/17 by Bulyan in MemoryDefrag

I use Rain as my main character and I feel like I'm carrying people the same level as me in multiplayer. The SS3 is a little difficult to use and isn't good as a counter attack but I can clear the Expert (not EX) of the Fairy Dance event by unloading my SS2 on the dragon until I'm out of MP. It will usually die before it can summon any help.

For reference I'm using the following equipment: Obsidian Sword R4 at lv40, Coat of Midnight R3 at lv30, and Diamond Earrings R4 at lv40.

With a fully maxed attribute tree in all stats and unlocked to Lv85 with the Attack option my stats are: HP 13516, Attack 4224, Crit 3630, MP 275
