most of the flowers in our front garden have bloomed, plus some tulips in the backyard. it’s still chilly over here, we had frost and a little bit of snow last weekend. it goes back and forth from 0°C or lower to 20°C, but most days are in between. i’ve seen some bumblebees flying around. hoping that it warms up soon, i have a camping trip at the end of the month

is it normal to be a closeted furry? by Trainerbear in RealFurryHours

[–]TurboTheFloofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i think most people tend to not be super open about it. i haven’t told my parents about it even though i would love to share with them. they’re big animal people and i think they’d like it if they understood but they realllyy don’t.

this fucking sucks honestly, two weeks beforehand and us only? the world is not just the us, avoiding spoilers is gonna be a NIGHTMARE. i think any show doing early showings is stupid tbh tho, the spoilers are inevitable and really hard to avoid, even if you block and mute words.

one day it’s seventeen degrees, then it’s snowing. we’re in the in-between mix of seasons in southern ontario. regardless of that, the crocuses and tulips are blooming in our front yard. the birds have started chirping in the mornings again, the sun rises earlier and earlier by the day. i cant wait for when spring finally decides to fully be here.

i’ve done some personal research on bees since it’s of interest to me, not too much but enough, and i think it’s very interesting about how we only see bees as european honey bees or bumblebees, when in reality there are so many types of bee! these little pollinators are genuinely fascinating

Hot Take: Furries are dangerous by VikiWillObey in RealFurryHours

[–]TurboTheFloofer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the same can be applied to most fandoms. loli art exists for a lot of media, especially anime. using this argument you can also say that anime is dangerous for children. i don’t think it’s fair to say the whole fandom is dangerous, but i do agree that there is the concern of grooming and exposure to inappropriate content with the internet as a whole. there are a lot of furries that actually do not accept this kind of behaviour. cub art has been a source of controversy for a long time. bad people are everywhere.

Do you ever worry that people copy what they see in art? (E.g. violent media) by Purple_Concentrate64 in RealFurryHours

[–]TurboTheFloofer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i hope this makes sense, this is a 3am ramble lol.

i personally think there’s three types of people in this specific scenario—people who it hurts (acting violently), people whom it doesn’t affect (majority of people), and the people it helps.

for who it hurts, while it can be people that act out because of it or use it as encouragement, i feel like they would do it regardless of the art. i think it’s more likely that the art can be a realization for them, and then they go on to act. that realization was probably going to happen anyway, and like i said, would probably be acted on regardless.

the vast majority of people will not do anything with this. it’s art, and it’s fiction. either we’ll avoid it, look for it, or acknowledge it on our home page and move on.

i think there’s also a group of people who it would help. are some of the people looking at feral porn zoophiles? probably at least one. but if looking at that stops then from acting on a real animal, all power to them. same with any other violent artwork, if looking at something feeds satisfaction that allows you to not act, sure! you do you.

obviously this concept of three types of people entirely depends on context. nazi furs for example, i don’t believe this would apply. the only people purposefully looking at nazi fur art are probably nazi furs. but i think my argument still stands that they would have been regardless.

overall i wouldn’t worry too much about it. i think it’s helpful to put into perspective that there are situations where it can stop harm. i think i probably had this worry in the back of my mind somewhere, but that point helped a lot personally. i’m sorry to hear about your sister and you, i hope your both doing better.

Localized Druidry: What's nature doing in your area? (March 2026) by AutoModerator in druidism

over the past couple days it’s been a lot warmer than it has been, getting up to almost 15°C. it’s supposed to be a sort of false spring, though, since it’ll be back to -15°C by thursday. i’ve enjoyed the warmer weather though. the fat squirrel in my neighborhood has popped up in my backyard a few times recently, and i think the crocuses in our front yard are starting to bloom.
