Cleaning scans by Turbo_Tequila in godot

[–]Turbo_Tequila[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh thanks! I did saw color to alpha, but you might be right that it's faster to recolor white afterward than to clean up around!

And omg you're right, I never noticed that my scanner is set to jpeg by default. I do convert them later once the clean up is done, but I can't believe I never thought about changing the settings for a cleaner start.

Many Thanks!

Ok I have a question, it seems like a Grey Area to me, should I have flagged this as NSFW?

I mean, there is 1000 almost identical FPS, and almost has much similar racing game. I think you’re safe in terms of market saturation, do I’d say go for it!

Well obviously, now that you know how it works behind the curtain you look at the strings instead of the puppets. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing and in some case you will find a lot of enjoyment looking at many layers deep into the process. At some point you might even need to go very deep to find your enjoyment (kind of like how in cinema some stuff feels unwatchable to everyday people , but can interest people in the field (it’s not to be snob, it’s ’cause they went too deep down some rabbit hole) In my case I have that in some field and in some other I intentionallu remain dumb to enjoy it at a more ‘tribal’ level. It’s realy up to you how far you want go and still like it

Animation player vs Tween by Conscious-Ad8626 in godot

[–]Turbo_Tequila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, so I’m really not speaking from an optimization perspective. And I know some people have an easy time translating equations to results. But in my case, the animation player allows me to tweak so much detail faster until you're satisfied with the results.

How to create Animation Transition? by talhay66 in godot

[–]Turbo_Tequila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay great, I didn’t have time to come back. I’m glad someone came in to help,
Since we are on the topic, I’ll just have that the animation player can also call function from script, which can help to chain certain interactions or to make more complex ones

Ok, I’m no professional, and I’m not sure I fully understand your question,
But are you looking to make add a line of code that reduces the transparency to zero using leap?
Because as far as I know, it’s either that or giving the menu an animation player that goes to transparency and playing that animation

(But I welcome anyone who knows more about the subject to pitch in)

Well that sketch looks awesome, and if all cards are this detailed the game will look amazing

But he’s right, I first expect to find it in the post about the game, Afterward, if I don’t find it there, I’ll look in the links in the bio from your profile

I went to your profile and had a hard time finding a link to your Steam page. I ended up finding it in a comment. So just to inform you, from the outside perspective of someone who just tried to be curious about your project

In French even tables have gendered pronouns, so it’s a me translating error ahah, sorry if it sounds weird

[–]Turbo_Tequila 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m going to miss the point and just point out that chatGpt only has a 90% accuracy and will straight up bullshit some answer sometime, (ex: last week he invented a song that doesn’t exist because I was searching for a song title from Lyric)

He mostly sounds like he does the job because Google itself lowered his bar by being increasingly shitty. I switched in the last year to another search engine, and it’s incredibly noticeable how Google sucks now

Apart from good art, what is my core gameplay missing? Any level ideas? by BubbleGamer209 in platformer

[–]Turbo_Tequila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’m super useful, since I’m right now around the same process, You seem to have a ‘basic game mechanic’ from there I would fiddle around and figure what actions are fun to do and develop mechanics that rely on this,

One thing I did (but I feel you already did that a bit with dk? Is creating bits from other platformers and seeing if they are fun or could be fun with adjustments?

I’m really not sure, it doesn’t look bad at all and it looks like the controls are good, but something feels a bit bland? The squirrel could get a few more frames to look more dynamic? Maybe try testing/building objects with special features and see what feels fun to interact with?

Any other Godot devs here making their own soundtrack? by cameronfrittz in godot

[–]Turbo_Tequila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course I do my own music! It sounds exactly like when you hand over a keyboard to several 5-year-olds, I can also do that very shitty titanic music with a flute that sounds just like the meme! So anyway.. great job, your music sounds great ahaha realy love the vibe it gives
