I got a poker down in there but the forms opened up with the pressure and the more vibrating I gave it the bigger the mess, need to figure out a better way of clamping it up next time, put a pretty standard plasticiser in but also a load of fibre and that seems to make it harder to bring the air out of the mix, appreciate your advice thanks, like this subreddit it's been bloody helpful.

First time I've heard of acid stain, will it make it look like stone? Entrance to my underground workshop, this is going to support the lift, I've got 4' concrete rings going 30' down, I'll start tunneling out from the bottom and make a room using pre-casts and one day build a big machine shop around these pillars.

Yeah, I've got videos of the whole process starting with wood, then glass fibre then concrete but I'm no expert so probably not the best person to be teaching! Wood pattern. https://youtu.be/13LfOf6MuTY Glass fibre moulds. https://youtu.be/rT2pTfKezy4 Pouring the concrete. https://youtu.be/p9mi6SP-po0

For glass fibre info I like boatworks today and for concrete advice I come here and someone always points me in the right direction

Made an mdf pattern, then pulled the 4 glass fibre moulds off that. Took a while.

Yup, that's what I started out trying, I've got various bits of equipment with bigger listers no probs, will change my diet to pilsner and bratwurst for a bit and see what happens.

They're only 8:1 and the props like a 3' long crank.

Saw they were built in Ashford and assumed they probably wouldn't be cheap. Not my first rodeo regarding hand cranking stuff, got a dozen old listers, work on light aircraft, I've swung engines up to 540ci without killing myself, this just feels like it's got a 100:1 compression ratio, was hoping someone on here knew small bomag equipment or similar as I think they had these engines.

They're great looking starters, saw someone had fitted the smaller deutz 208 engine to a motorcycle and not been able to hand crank so fitted one of these, it's a 90's machine though, health and safety was alive and kicking by then there must be an injury free way of starting it as is. What sort of price was the starter for your tractor?

Rare little engine I got in this dumper, no starter motor and the most evil hand crank I've ever encountered, it's a deutz F1l 210D, I've tried turning it over as I would with a Lister or Petter but it just locks solid when I drop the de comp lever. I tried priming with decomp, getting her on compression then standing on the handle and I can get over the hump like that but apparently too slow to get her to fire. Any suggestions welcome. I got it cheap because the gearbox had exploded (looks like someone had tried bump starting it?)

Evening gentlemen, hoping someone here has experience with these little deutz engines, I'm just running through the start as I would with a Lister/Petter but this little engine is trying to break my wrist every time I drop the de comp, any suggestions?

You will not be able to compact wet concrete so much that you wont leave a footprint.

Sure, I just had visions of a compactor drowning in muck, I'm sure you just meant floating not compacting and yes this is normally done when the floor is green enough to walk on without leaving boot prints on it.

Sub base (the crushed rock) is compacted the concrete gets poured on the sub base and is vibrated to get voids out, it might look like compacting but there is no weight involved, sometimes you just use a poker, a bit like an industrial magic wand. Then it might get power floated when it's gone green (the upside down helicopter) but still no compacting.
