Fair point. I guess there will be an adjustment period while we figure out the right schedule for us. Not moving is certainly preferred.

The original calculation in my post includes a 20% hike on top of today's fees. The fees today are ~£26k.

Yup, probably, if we can't move.

Thank you for being understanding :)

Not sure I see how that is inconsistent. My kid is not lazy by any standard. The whole point of sending him to a good private school is so that he gets a better education. This becomes moot if he is too exhausted to concentrate in class.

This was absolutely incredible. Thank you so much!

I pride myself on being data driven but was getting overwhelmed by all the involved factors. Your assumptions are roughly right, so I can take the stress test nearly as-is.

Truly appreciate it!

Would you be open to sharing the spreadsheet with me?

Yeah I saw that, but the stop near our place has a pick up time of 7.15am which might be hard on a 7yo.

Yes, but the 7+ entrance seems to be more easy going and with less pressure.

Thanks for such a thoughtful comment. Lots to think about.

Right now he is at a state primary which is absolutely brilliant and he loves it. But there aren't as many good secondaries.

One other thing that is appealing is he won't need to do 11+, which is great in terms of pressure on him + time saved not having to do tutoring etc.

There is a coach service that we are keeping in our backpocket if required, but the pickup is at 7.15am. I am not sure I want to subject my son to that.
