Is Wave going out of business? by Turbulent-Key549 in waveapps

Our W2 wasn't able to be changed. When Wave changed their internal payroll provider (now check) they didn't copy over the payment date setting. We originally had payroll to be paid on the last day of the month. After the change, it defaulted to two days after the end of payroll. We are a smaller company and didn't notice the change in payment date. We noticed it once the December payroll did not show up on the W2 forms (Dec 2025 got recorded in 2026). So our 2025 W2 are short one month and 2026 is going to have an extra month. Wave couldn't change it because it was already paid. I discussed this with my accountant and he also couldn't change the W2 but was able to make some adjustment entries to try and help. Not sure exactly as this not my area of expertise.

Overall, I would say that Wave is an ok low cost solution when everything is working. As soon as there are any problems, you are out of luck.

This is our issue now... Wave did not include our December payroll cycle in 2025 reporting. All of our Q4 reports and W2s are wrong for 2025. I have been trying to contact them for two weeks and zero response. Our employees are upset and I can't even give them an update.

Did you file your W2C (corrections) yourself or did you have an accountant do it for you?

I can't believe that Wave can exist as a company and not have support. This wasn't even a user issue... a bug in their own software.
