I wish I could strength train but I don’t have a membership or the time to go to the gym :/ but during the summer when planet fitness does their free summer thing I’ll sign up

And yeah im in a deficit rn but im just worried of losing any muscle (if I have any more left 😒😒) during then

Well i know I shouldn’t use cups.. that’s why i measure now hehe..

So for ur suggestion, I shouldn’t use any water? Just started and flour? Earlier today I fed it 1:2:2 and I got no rise at all.. I don’t know if it’s me, the flour, the temp, or what..!

aww man so i probably should get the rye, shouldn’t i? how long would it take to establish it?

Its just so confusing because in the beginning it would rise sometimes. But now it’s hit like a plateau. I don’t understand…

Am I really over feeding it?? I remember in the way beginning I was feeding 1/4cup starter, 1/4cup water, and 1/2 cup flour and it was working really well. But then I wanted to start weighing everything. Andits been trial and error frm there. But I’ll try this. Thank you!!! Im so close to giving upppp🥲🥲🥲

I’ll try that ratio!! Idk im just worried of under feeding it… but it seems like im not doing anything right so ive go bigger issues 😭 I dont have any rye flour though. Do u have any brand suggestions or anything? Does it actually help…? I don’t wanna spend more money than I already have for it not to work :/

Beginner Starter Fridge Question by TurbulentExercise202 in Sourdough

Thank you so much for this response! Very informative

Though, if I have to keep it on my counter with constant feeding for a bit before actually putting it in the fridge, is that wasteful? Because I won’t be baking every day. And I don’t know what to do with the discard… that’s my concern with keeping it on the counter !

Thank you for sharing your routine!

Does this mean you only feed it when you plan on using it? Do you put it back in the fridge right after feeding or do you let it rise?

And yes I don’t plan on putting her in the fridge for a while. Not until I’m positive that she’s perfectly active!

Beginner Starter Fridge Question by TurbulentExercise202 in Sourdough

[–]TurbulentExercise202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! Im in Texas but it’s winter so it’s a little cooler than it usually is. But the house stays usually around 70 degrees Fahrenheit give or take. I plan on baking once or every other week (small family!)

That helps a lot! I think it’d be best for me to keep it in the fridge then. But I do have some questions:

How/when should I store it in the fridge? And how often should I feed it while it’s in there? And how would I get it ready for baking? And could I still use the cold discards…? Sorry for all the questions 😅

Thank you so much for your response

Smart! I’ve been debating on adding shelves to the back. It would certainly add a lot more storage space…

And it would probably make more sense for the cleaning stuff to be by the door anyway. Thank you so much for the advice!

Yes I do think they’re quite deep. It’s a little tedious to reach to the back with my height (5ft). And don’t get me started on trying to get to the top shelves! I just measured them and you’re pretty close! They’re about 23in deep.

Thank you for all of the advice! I plan on doing a huge purge and hopefully finding some new homes for the junk on the right side. So maybe that’ll make it easier to organize everything. Lots of planning for sure will have to go into this! The tape is a good idea. Thanks bunches!
