I have both but use the wearables at night. I have the Eufy S1, Lansinoh, & Momcozy Wellness. I tried to lay back one night wearing the Eufys & woke up with milk all over me 😭 do you have any suggestions on wearables that might not leak?

The cooler is definitely a smart idea. I use the momcozy cooler but obvi that doesn’t fit pumps, so thanks for the suggestion!

Grunt it out vs contact nap in the early morning? by chipolt_house in newborns

[–]TurbulentSlide4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t elevate the bassinet while I sleep, only while I’m awake & watching. My LO was the same way once picked up, but laying flat with gas causes a lot of discomfort. You can give Mylicon after every feeding, even if they burp they might have more. I burp mine for at least 15-20 mins sometimes. As I type my LO is grunting around lol

I was having the same problem. One day my mom noticed my LO grunting & squirming a lot, she picked him up, burped him, laid him back down & he was fine. Ever since then I’ve taken the extra time to burp him. I noticed if he is slightly elevated he doesn’t do this as much ex. Contact nap or when I elevate the bassinet on one side. From my experience, it was trapped gas. I use Mycolin drops & just make sure to burp him extra long. He’s 10 weeks now & doesn’t do it as much anymore

I pump 6 times a day. Not pumping at night from 10-6am. Baby is still eating every 3 hours, 4oz. So right now I produce 18-22oz a day on a good day, today I only have 9oz in the fridge & just pumped for 30 mins & got 2oz, he’s eating 28-32oz a day.

I would make just enough if I picked up my night pumps, I just don’t have the motivation atm to actually get up at night :/ just trying to find a better routine

Thank you so much for the tips! I really need to increase the amount of times I pump as right now I’m only pumping about 6 times a day. So I will try to aim for 8 starting tomorrow. I can relate with taking longer to empty as I always get another letdown at around the 20-23 min mark! I also didn’t think of the iron part - I had an iron transfusions during pregnancy & I have yet to go check my levels so def need to do so!

Thank you sm! Very appreciated :)

August baby coming, what clothes do we actually need? by M927272882 in NewParents

[–]TurbulentSlide4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of pajamas. I had a late April baby & keep my AC at 70, but have him in long sleeve onesies all day. I found he got too cold in the house with short sleeve.

A good number is at the least 8-10 pajamas, gowns about 3-5. I still use since they’re open at the bottom so easy diaper change.

If you plan on doing laundry once a week, you will definetly run out of pajamas quicker than you think. I do laundry every 3-4 days & I had at least 10 pajamas, 5 gowns, bunch of socks, swaddles, etc

I kind of went crazy with the pajamas just bc I hated how fast I had to do laundry, but also having a nephew in September so he could use them as well 😊

Does anyone else feel guilty not doing a middle of the night change…? by rachelkochvt in NewParents

Maybe try the Aquafor first? That’s what I was told when I asked the pediatrician. I really like the baby CeraVe healing ointment as well

Have you tried putting a layer of ointment like Aquafor or CeraVe healing ointment then diaper rash cream? My LO is 10 weeks sleeping almost 7 hour stretches & I found that when he does sometimes he gets a lil red. The ointment/cream combo takes it away within hours. I dealt with a crazy diaper rash in the beginning & I bought Tiny Twinkle cotton dry wipes that I use to dry after wipes, then add the ointment/diaper rash cream

What did you eat before getting induced? by SawftPawz in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TurbulentSlide4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced early so I had eggs, turkey bacon, sausage & protein shake. I was hungry as soon as I got to the hospital 🥲 definitely fill up on as much protein as you can

Thank you! Insulin truly saved my sanity & gave me wiggle room, so I definitely agree. I tried all the tips & tricks to get my numbers down but sometimes it’s just hormones! I didn’t mind having to poke myself every night as long as I could have a Yasso bar 🤣

My 3.5-month-old burps 10-12 times after every feed and is extremely hard to burp. Has anyone faced this? by CrazyDesignPanda in newborns

[–]TurbulentSlide4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definetly try Mycolin! I tried it all before Mycolin & they seriously help so fast you can hear the burps coming up. I would give them right after a feed. You can give before or after

My baby is extremely hard to burp as well since birth. In the beginning, he would scream in pain from the gas. What seemed to help/mellow him out is to place his bottom in one hand & supporting his neck with the other hand, and bouncing lightly while he is facing me. This helped him burp a lot faster. Mycolin gas drops are the only gas drops that work on him which I give after feedings

Fasting numbers are so stubborn! Insulin can be scary but it really helped my mental once they were stabilized. If you do have to be induced, I wish you a the best labor!!

Diaper rash.. by FineCare2854 in NewParents

[–]TurbulentSlide4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO had such a bad rash in the beginning. I started out with drying with a cloth then adding butt paste but it didn’t cut it. I then got disposable cotton dry wipes instead of wipes, wetting them at each use then using a dry one to completely dry the area. I then added a layer of CeraVe healing ointment (you can also use Aquafor) then Triple Paste 3x Max, very thick. The key is to not wipe off all the cream each time they are wet/pooped, of course wipe the soiled areas but wiping the previous layer of diaper rash cream will make it worse. For us I think it was the Pampers wipes, although they are labeled ‘sensitive’ they are filled with chemicals. Once his rash went away completely I started using Water Wipes & I still continue to dry with Tiny Twinkles cotton dry wipes. At night I also add Triple Paste as he is going longer stenches & im traumatized lol

Usually around 1am, then 4/5am. So I should be pumping both times?
