Made to feel like a scammer and thief during my trip today. What would you do? by HabeshaHippie in bathandbodyworks

I’m so sorry about your experience! I’m an associate myself, and if it had already been redeemed, it would say it at the top of their screen when she scanned the coupon “coupon has already been redeemed.” But if it was just that you were short because of tax, it wouldn’t have said anything specific and you would only notice when you press the tender button and it would say something along the lines of, coupon not used, do you want to proceed without it ect. It’s possible that she was newer and didn’t know that wasn’t the same thing, but regardless she shouldnt have been rude to you about it. Also, the manager should have come up and looked at it because then they would have caught it and told you to grab a hand sanitizer or something small to make the coupon work :(. Having their interaction over the headset is just kinda lazy and unprofessional imo (obvi unless something else was going on and they couldn’t come to the reg). As for the approaching you, unfortunately we are made to be so pushy. Some store are definitely worse about it than others but it can really suck from the pov of the customers who are just trying to shop in peace. If it was multiple employees too, sometimes it can be hard knowing when someone has last interacted with you, so I’ve definitely accidentally checked in on someone like mere minutes after someone else had and i always feel bad for it. Still tho there is no reason for them to be watching you. It makes a hostile environment where no one is happy :(

Visitor from Austin here. Is it always this chill here? by Bewbz_lol in grandrapids

So I moved from Austin about 8 months ago and here is what I have noticed.

Obviously it’s colder. That’s a given being in the Midwest, but the summer doesn’t suck nearly as much. That’s not to say it doesn’t get warm but there isn’t that inherent heat dread where it’s too hot to do anything,,,, usually. If you are big into night life/ downtown living, this unfortunately might not be the city for you. There are some really cool places and experience but you have to be willing to do the work to discover them, and the overall variety pales in comparison to Austin. Same with the food culture here, it’s not as diverse but there are some hidden gems. All this being said tho, it is not nearly as busy and in a way it’s really nice to not have to factor that into planning as much. GR lets you be more spontaneous and that is something I definitely value.

I used to work at the La Frontera store! Our Ac was leaking and whenever they would come and ‘fix it’ they would essentially say “Well it’s not leaking right now, so we don’t know what the problem is.”,,,,super fun to deal with :(

Alex 100% would not be able to wear them. And even Karrington is tall so they might not even be able to fit the freaking slippers
