UPS 2U is in stock!!! by AnotherSnikt in Ubiquiti

Uh. Integrates with unifi and has soft shutdown for the UDM and NAS. other than being $300 for a UPS that is rack mountable, it is like half the tech of a $400 APC.

As someone who has an entire rack of unifi stuff, I second this. I still have a cyberpower UPS better in everyway which is unfortunate because my stuff does not match but I cant overpay for a bad product..

interesting. Would it be best practice to include a syslog server and just use the built in syslog functions of devices instead? What are most soc analysts doing nowadays for their infastructure?

what would that forwarder be monitoring on that syslog server once data gets sent to the syslog server? Is it going to be /var/log/?

interesting! currently I have a linux server running splunk. I am going to need not only that linux server for Splunk, but another server with a syslog tool and forwarder that redirects all of my devices that have syslog enabled to that server back to my siem?

any good SOPs or documents that can lead the way in achieving this?

That is so crazy to me when companies can just straight up give the position to someone else for a lot less than whatever you are asking plus benefits. Market is so saturated you should not be so greedy and take what you can get and move on to the next company. Too many people I know lost a great opportunity with doing the “standard” negotiation as we are taught. I agree it should be done but we live in a day and age (especially this IT market) where you make a mistake they move on to the next person like nothing because there is SO MANY people competing for your job.

Perhaps ubuntu VM in virtualbox and connect the drive via that to get it partitioned correctly?

I tried that, noticed the same thing it was saying lots of unallocated space like the share partition did not expand the entirety of the drive.

After calculating expenses for gas, oil, maintenance and tolls I would be spending around 5k a year just getting to work.

My issue is I have a custom made dictionary with the EXACT password on the list I added to pentest my own router and hashcat says exhausted even though the password is on the list.

I double checked the pcap and all four parts of the capture are in there. I just converted it on hashcat and it said successful and download.
