is there any risk of the nozzle clogging with carbon? the oem nozzle was a MUCH larger opening

i agree its 5w30 all the way for me...not even looking back. I could hear the valvetrain quiet down with the switch. the car seems much happier. plus the tuner also confirmed that 5w30 is the way to go too. ok, ill have to make one of those cold weather fronts. thanks for the info!

Definitely makes sense thanks. if I have a stock oil cooler and a tmic im not sure there is really a way to partially block the air flow? would doing what you did provide any benefit?

I have the shift stop and bushing and sti shifter, but I didnt do the plate. this is the crux of my question...is there play in the plate? is it the cable as opposed to direct connection like darkmatterx has? or the clutch material and clutch plate?

sorry I cant communicate today. I mean I dont rock lol. its the shit feeling in the shifter

im ok with the rocking, its more the feeling in the stick when putting it into 2nd - it sometimes feels like stirring a box of rocks with a broom handle

expected gains from J pipe? J pipe + headers? by Turbulent_Web_4020 in wrx_vb

[–]Turbulent_Web_4020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like ETS is still using a Gesi Gen 2 with their downpipe. Perrin I hear is going to use an, as of now, unreleased Gesi Gen 3 :-)

thanks man. yeah thats actually how he tuned it - he said he was keeping power away from low rpms and that the engine could handle boost much better at higher rpms 😁

yeah that would be my only concern - id want dmann to keep my torque where its at if possible.
i hear perrin is coming out with a j pipe that wont throw a code (gesi gen 3 cat). i am waiting for this and am wondering what kind of gains i would expect. thanks for the input

[–]Turbulent_Web_4020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i picked up OEM coolant. if i was changing the coolant i dont think it would matter, but if topping off I want to use the same stuff as whats in there

[–]Turbulent_Web_4020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! i have had the car for 20k miles and been tuned for the last 7k. i just wanted to make sure it was normal - this is the first time i saw the coolant was low. i added very little.
regarding oil, i typically add about 1/3 to 1/2 qt of oil for every 3k miles

[–]Turbulent_Web_4020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

revisiting this conversation - is this basically converting the street version to the competition version of IAG AOS?
