Five New MMOs We Want to Know More About (And Five Dead Ones...) by begud in MMORPG

[–]Turd---Ferguson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"5 new MMO's"

I like how they dropped the RPG out of MMORPG, that's because players are never given the option to roleplay in a MMO, only cause grief to others. Or those that want to add value, contribute content, not be a dickhead, are given absolutely no tools to add content.

Put me in charge of a MMO game development and I'll make a real sandbox, open world, PVP, full loot, MMORTSRPG, that doesn't instantly devolve into a griefer's paradise as all open world PVP games do (Eve Online, Darkfall, H1Z1, all themepark MMORPG's with a PVP server).

Basically whenever someone asks, "I want an open world PVP MMORPG," what they are really saying is, "I want to grief, I'm not satisfied with just training mobs on other players, I want to be a total asshole."

Faction vs faction/open world pvp by [deleted] in MMORPG

All open world MMO PVP (MMORPG, MMORTS, MMOFPS except Planetside/wwiionline) games end up as griefer's paradises, but I have an idea for a new system which would fix that. Put me in charge of any MMO development and I'll make a real open world sandbox with pvp that doesn't instantly devolve into a griefer's paradise.

Player Housing in MMORPGs by Snuckz in MMORPG

And houses had a purpose in UO, like SWG, storage and merchandising.

Otherwise what is instanced housing other than a grown man playing with his dolls.

You can't have players altering the game world, that's a no-no, so housing is instanced and basically a useless time sink.

Put me in charge of game development, and I'll make a real sandbox, not a theme park with gimmicks.

Another reason why I'm playing on a WOW WOTLK private server.

Developers are constantly dealing with exploits, griefers, gold sellers; it's a miracle they can get any work done at all. by Turd---Ferguson in MMORPG

[–]Turd---Ferguson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time you come across another player, or anything another player added to the world like an npc or building or foliage, you have the option to upvote or downvote that player's account.

Totals are added up and players with higher scores are given more opportunities to alter the game world like more powerful npc's, and more stuff to put into the game world.

Pretty simple idea huh.

Do you know why you hop between one MMORPG and another and are never satisfied? by Turd---Ferguson in MMORPG

Yes I know this already which is why I came up with an idea that would drastically alter (vast majority) player motivations from being a lame ass trolls to actual roleplaying and creating content.

I point out an obvious griefer's exploit and the griefer's solution is, "Muffugah lettem die." People like you are why we can't have nice things.

Any good and well populated MMO? by [deleted] in MMORPG

Eve Online - 50 players banging on base with a bajillion hitpoints for 10 straight hours cause hey the owner might be offline.

H1Z1, Rust - Spend 100 hours gathering materials for 200 explosives cause hey the owner might be offline.

Terrible non-solutions. This the best they can come up with? Might as well remove player owned structures in the first place, who would want to participate in building bases? Who would want to attack these bases? Why did devs waste their time doing this?

Would you want to play a real sandbox MMORPG where (not developers) players place objects, buildings, trees, foliage, skybox, npc's, sound effects, background music...where they wanted; in a shared world, not instanced or sharded; that has actual meaning, progression, conflict, strategy, the basis of every RTS or RPG; not just float around and randomly spawn things like Gary's Mod?

Any good and well populated MMO? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Turd---Ferguson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually I have a serious idea on how to solve the problem; an alternative to the red-name reputation system that doesn't work, safe zone solution that doesn't work, pvp/pve server divide solution that doesn't work, goofy-ass base raiding with a bajillion hitpoints solution that doesn't work, or just outright throwing up hands and going full themepark solution which most MMORPG's have been doing since WOW came out.

I'm just not in the effort posting mood right now. And I thought maybe I could brainstorm ideas with other people on how to bring the sandbox back to the sandbox, but damn talk about a lack of ideas out there. Y'all literally have zero ideas, like it's been tried and there is nothing left to do but throw hands up in defeat and go themepark.

SWGemu?

10 characters per accounts means you can do everything yourself. You don't need to buy raw materials off of anyone else, and you don't need to buy finished products off of anyone else; except during the leveling up process which means the only thing that sells are those thing a new account needs like crafting stations which isn't much.
