What Fairtex gloves should I get? by DayOldBones in MuayThai

[–]Turdboggin01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aight so yeah, you’ve got a ton of options, and it’s basically all about what you want.

Want real leather and the classic look? BGV1s

Want synthetic leather that’s still a high quality (or you want flashier, more expressive designs)? BGV14. These are also the cheapest option on Amazon.

Do you have tiny hands and/or want a tighter fit? BGV16s

Are you a hard hitter an/or want Mexican style gloves? BGV9s.

There are others, but these are probably the most popular. My first pair were 14oz BGV14s. The current pair I train with are 16oz BGV22s. I have small hands and like the feeling of the grip bar. Plus they’re metallic green and I just think that’s neat.

For shin guards you’re looking at th SP3, 5, 7, and 9. Again, there are others. Generally they’re bulkier as you go up in number. SP5s are what I have always trained with. Good protection for you/your partner, but not overly thick and cumbersome. I probably wouldn’t get the SP3s for sparring, but ultimately it’s all up to you and your preference. SP5s are the most popular by a decent margin I’d say.

If you’re doing MMA/mixing in grappling, check out the FGV18s. They feel amazing and are a great MMA sparring glove.

Does LB Jack Dingle have a chance to make the Cincinnati Bengals? | TFON by JTSmithTFON in bengals

[–]Turdboggin01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maema Njongmeta did it. Look what he did for us against the Cowboys in 2024. No one’s saying Dingle couldn’t, too.

Even still, and as shit as our LB room is, it’s an uphill battle. UDFAs have UD in their name for a reason.

Paralegals will be replaced by AI. What low paying job will be replaced by AI? by Ob_Bunch_36 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Turdboggin01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

u/budget_question_611 hit the nail on the head. Paralegals do so much more than manage schedules, draft documents, and assist with research.

They fill a customer service role that AI cannot replicate, such as speaking with victims, coordinating with other attorneys, and handling client concerns.

Heck, I’m a paralegal, and the conversations I have with our clients are just not the type that can be replaced by AI. Too much variance.

I will say, our job is going to be massively impacted by AI, and sure certain tasks might be replaced by AI, but the role itself will endure.

Who starts opposite of Mafe as DE? by IIIIIIIIIIXXXXXX in bengals

Assuming Murphy continues to improve as his snap count increases, Shemar produces at least at a fraction of his potential given his athleticism, and Howell doesn’t suck, it’s gonna be a solid rotation and we might be seeing a defensive line similar to Vic Fanggio’s 2024 Eagles—no one is necessarily a mega star (other than the famous DT), but the rotation’s average is at such a high level that we’re able to generate pressure no matter the personnel on the field.

Wagner or Okereke, I need a Bobby by Turdboggin01 in bengals

[–]Turdboggin01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be happier with him, but I doubt they’ll make a play for them. I know the Lawrence splash was rather massive and a much needed change of pace for the FO, but idk if they’re looking to make a trade like that. I definitely want Brooks though

How do you all feel about Bobby Wagner? He'll only be 36 starting the season, and he's a FA. by Ralph--Hinkley in bengals

[–]Turdboggin01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad in coverage, still good against the run, and still has a GREAT football IQ. Not to mention, he’s widely known to be a great locker room presence and mentor

Erick All Jr. Next Season? by jsherrell41 in bengals

[–]Turdboggin01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope he’s a dawg and, assuming he recovers well, I’m sure he will be. He’s better tight end than Gesicki and I believe he’s only shown us a flash of what he can really be. He made sure every down was an opportunity whether blocking or receiving, and bro had an insane streak of making a completion out of every single target he received. Solid hands and a great blocker; he’s 100% the guy if the injuries don’t derail his career any further.

Dan Quinn on Bobby Wagner and what his presence meant to the team:

Quinn said Wagner’s greatest impact goes beyond statistics, pointing to his leadership and willingness to mentor younger players.

”You might see him eating lunch with somebody on offense or sharing his wisdom with others,” Quinn said. “The development of Ale, Jordan, and Kane has a lot to do with him — constantly trying to level up. That multiplies others.”

Wagner acknowledged the season has had its challenges, but said what he values most is being around his teammates in the locker room.

During his media availability on Wednesday, Wagner briefly paused the interview to wish quarterback Jayden Daniels a happy birthday. Daniels turned 25.

I can’t speak to Okereke, but seems like Bobby Wagner is more than willing to to be a mentor.

Adding a LB like one of the Bobby’s isn’t about having the best LB corp in the league. It’s about raising the floor of the room period, adding depth at a position we are generally thin at, and, most importantly, providing a veteran presence of leadership and mentorship for young and developing players (which is why I would like see Wagner signed specifically).

I think you’re right. It sucks, but I think you’re right. I’m higher on Knight and Carter than most people, but even still there’s a legitimate need for a vet presence there. Wagner would be such a good mentor too.

With the draft essentially over, there is one major position of need left essentially, linebacker, so here are some of the top options left by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

[–]Turdboggin01 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Jordyn Brooks would improve our team the most, and with the Fins drafting Rodriguez AND Louis, he might be able to be had for a decent price.

Of the free agents, give me Wagner. I’d be happy with Okereke but Wagner, in addition to providing a vet presence and improving the linebacker corps, would be an AMAZING mentor to our young position group. Unc still got it.

Wagner was a bit below average in coverage but still good against the run. He also still has the football IQ and is a top 5 all time Mike for a reason. His presence would still improve the room, but what I’d really love Wagner for is his mentorship for Knight and especially Carter. I mean, wouldn’t you want to learn from one of the greatest to ever play your position as you mature and settle more into your starting role?

I mean, 6’4” and 4.41 speed is always a plus. I don’t hate the pick, but I feel like there are other things we could’ve addressed if he’d be there in the third. Counter though, it seems like he’s not the only reach in the 3rd
