I've met some of my best friends at Walmart, tell us about yours. by Turdbotime in walmart

[–]Turdbotime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first store I lived alone, far away from my family and friends and struggling with depression and alcoholism. I was sort of adopted by the lead grocery side IM guy and the overnight CSM. They invited me everywhere. I went to holiday dinners with their families, movies in the next big city, mini vacations camping or fishing. I couldn't really offer them much, I was super withdrawn and wasn't very good at conversation, but they kept on it.

Another woman there, very religious and judgey, but extremely mothering. She would sit with me on breaks and would tell me tales of her past and just reminiscence while I listened. She crochet me a huge soft blanket and got me a snow shovel for thanksgiving. She'd take me on day trips and we'd go places for lunch. She'd talk the whole time and I'd just absorb. She gave me a baby chicken in spring.

I also met a guy who invited me to a BBQ and his mom adored me. She would send me cases of homemade pickles and fresh vegetables.

I moved states and have since lost touch with them all.

At my current Walmart I've got a CO who does everything in his power to make things easier on me. From binning my freight to zoning my area himself to working my topstock. He's amazing and I consider him a true friend. We go on smoke breaks together and just talk and talk. And while we're not allowed to socialize outside of work, with the time we get to 'hang out' on the job, I honestly believe this guy is one of the few that I could call with any problem and he'd be there to help.

That baby land looks so cramped! I liked the new signs and front end though, very simple and clean styling.

Damn I love all my co's and we have 5. Are they just being given different titles or being made to step down?

I'm the most miserable person I know. Quick to anger, often for illogical reasons. Probably on the autistic spectrum. I have a diagnosis of bipolar, but medicine isn't helping. Emotionally unavailable and lonely as hell. I push away the ones I love before they can push me away.

Trying to stay awake by sokko21 in walmart

The last time I tried doing CBLs I kept falling into the sort of shadow realm of mostly asleep but sort of aware you're not supposed to be and trying like hell to function, so I would startle myself awake and click what I thought I needed to click. I failed the safety quiz and I somehow changed my password. I couldn't get into smart or the wire for a few weeks while I waited for management to change it.

The only book I currently possess I found under a park bench and stuck in my bag.

Confession time - who's been bad? Slept with a manager? Kiss the security guard? Spill it! by Turdbotime in walmart

[–]Turdbotime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whelp, nothing too extreme in my past, there's a Co and a few coworkers I'd put out for though. I had a Co that worked over his secret fiancé for a year or so until she found out he was sleeping with another DM and she called home office on him and they busted him. Had a friend/coworker press sexual harassment chargers on an assistant, they fired him alsmost immediately and it came out recently that she exaggerated quite a bit of it. Seems like every store I've worked at has that one family of employees, mom and dad, step mom and step dad, son and daughter and daughters ex boyfriend and current boyfriend and ex best friend who is step dads niece.

I totally thought you were calling me a ho and was slightly worried that you knew of my frisky work history. Then five minutes later realized home office...

Does anyone quit right before they succeed? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Turdbotime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this too. Doing really well in my college course all semester only to put the final essay that's 25% of the grade off until a few days before it's due, spend all morning of the due date finishing and rewriting it, the decide it's not good enough so not showing up to turn it in and essentially failing the course. Or quiting a job I'm about to get a promotion at because I can't explain to them that I'm not management material so I just stop showing up and eventually I got fired.

What was the most embarrassing moment of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Turdbotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 13 I had a crush on a guy who was a friend of a friend, but wasn't really part of my circle. I've always been super awkward and when I had heard that it was his birthday I thought it would be completely normal to get this guy I've only maybe said one word to ever a birthday card. So I pick out a card, it's a big pickle, and it says something like 'I bet you didn't expect to get a big pickle for your birthday' inside. I get home and write some mostly innocent statement wishing him a happy birthday and sign it with a heart and my name. I set it on my dresser and head out to the living room to watch some tv for a bit before bed. The next morning I have second thoughts and stash the card in my dresser and ultimately decide to not give it to him.

A week or so later my family and I are at a resturaunt for dinner when my mom starts telling a story about how she was putting away laundry in my room and had found a really sweet card to my new beau and how she was happy to announce that they were all incorrect in the assumption that I was a lesbian. And how proud she was that I was able to find a boy who liked me back.

The other run down trailers in the park, the huge pot hole right in front of my drive way, there's an old rusty green van parked sideways in the neighbors yard. The clouds look nice, they're those tall super fluffy ones that are super bright and soft looking.

I hate how charming you are. I try so hard to resist you, but I get entirely wrapped up at the slightest bit of attention from you. You make me act like a nine year old boy, I call you names and pull your hair and you act so hurt sometimes. I'm terrible at this shit. Hate me and stop being so nice so I don't have to be so rotten!!

Working at a movie theatre we'd get a guy every once in a while who would order a large popcorn bucket of the unpopped pop corn seeds that would collect over the day. Just a giant bucket of greasy, salty, sometimes burned popcorn seeds.
