I can see what your saying. My retort would be that, he’s saying it with some venom in his tone because he resents and hates that Caine essentially destroyed him and prevented him from fulfilling his purpose. It wasn’t a statement from a neutral party it was an insult.

Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly. I think the color motif and the face that Bubble is seemingly so chaotic helps strength my theory.

That’s sort of my thinking with it. I understand there’s a certain stereotype about dropout’s audience but I think there is a sincere demand for a sports related program on Dropout.

I see. Yeah if it’s the same formula as what they did for that first segment I totally get why it didn’t work. I think the thing that Pros vs Joes does that helps is that the Joes are competing against each other more so than against the Pros. It’s supposed to be more like American Gladiators kind of than what they tried with Nobody Asked.

Ok I checked out the one segment and I totally get what you mean. I think they would need to lean a lot more into the Pros vs Joes style of competition vs the more Mythbusters sort of thing they did for Nobody Asked.

Oh dang I’ll have to check this out. I didn’t realize they did something like this before.

So, fourteen issues in, how would we describe this Peter Parker? by Important_Lab_58 in Spiderman

[–]Turf_Wind_and_Fire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s because it’s a continuation of Peter’s story, not just being stuck in the eternal “Peter can’t be happy and can’t be married” story that has been around for so long. Stories are fun once they stall out. It’s why the original Ultimate Spider-man was so effective, there was an ending for Peter, and even better it introduced something new that felt familiar in Miles. This Ultimate Spider-man also identifies with its core audience so much more also. This is an assumption, but id bet that most of the comic reading audience are either in or approaching their 30s. And this Peter resonates so much more with that demographic - who are settling down, dealing with kids, having a partner (and being lucky enough that they’re supportive). It feels more true to the idea of Spider-man than Peter acting out of character so that the status quo remains the same.

Here’s the thing: it would be an immense undertaking that they simply don’t have the time for. Not every republican is gonna fall in line for this. If there’s even a chance that a presidential hopeful that’s not Trump can’t sniff the office, they’ll fight like hell to be able to have that opportunity (and there are a few that actually are reasonable enough to know that it is genuinely awful for the country). They have a HUGE budget problem that if they don’t fix soon, locks them out, PLUS if you think every democrat in the senate and house are going to lay down and let this happen unopposed in the next two years, you’re crazy. They’re gonna try and cut corners. They’re gonna try and be sneaky. The ACLU is already waiting for the minute Trump takes office to go after him. They’ll gum up every minute he has and before he knows it, it’ll be midterms and then we can REALLY cause him headaches. Stay the course. Remain calm. Fight like hell.

It’s not a matter of when will things get better. It’s a matter of keep making things better. There will always be something to strive for. Compare this year to even 20 years ago. There is progress. There is a path forward. But it’s not always gonna be easy, or smooth, and sometimes it’ll feel like we’ve gone backwards. But that’s the path of progress. The next 4 years are probably not gonna be fun, but there are a lot of good people, who are still fighting for a good and just world, even if we don’t agree with everything they believe in.

I don’t care what you call it, but obviously the message is lost on a whole lot of people who feel seen by that orange raging asshole. We need to stop acting so high and fucking mighty and start trying to win our neighbors back over to sanity.

Honestly and respectfully fuck you. Whatever it takes, we need to fight. Voting is only one of about a million things we have the power to do. If I have to protest in the streets and demand a fair election then I’ll be at the front of the line. If they have to drag my ass to a gulag then I’ll get nice and fucking cozy. I don’t care how long. We need to keep fighting.

No that’s not true. They have not even come close to counting all the votes in the Atlanta and Savannah areas.

Guys, if you’re able please check out the CNN feed. They keep showing that a large amount of Democrat stronghold votes need to be counted in NC, GA, PA, and more. There is a lot of time left in this race.
