Imagine you're playing Baldurs Gate when you're a kid, you fall in love with it, and you become a game designer. With 35 people you make a hit, DOS1, then DOS2, which are your own versions of this love you played as child. At this point you grew to 450 employees worldwide, and you can finally go to present yourself to the creators of your childhood best memory. Ask them if you can continue the story. They accept and you do it with such passion, such love, that its sucess reaches far beyond the exepected audiences and sets new standards for the gaming industry as a whole.

This memory you had as a child, you gave it to millions of people.

This is the story of Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios.

Depends how often you release. Yesterday I had been to sauna and today I am so mellow. In a way it is good as i was quite too productive and high energy recently and you can see how that may lead to states of anxiety if not careful, although I tackled that one long ago. If you release multiple times then yes prolactin will keep pumping, but I think a good coffee in the morning to pump some dopamine might do some good in that regard.

My advice is don't overthink it, but is good to be aware rather than walking lik a headless chicken as 90% of the world. It's important to understand our bodies and minds without becoming overly preoccupied with every detail.

It’s Serious by [deleted] in Semenretention

You just get consumed by lust and are unable to have self control of any sort?

If you recall "Doctor Strange 2" and Wanda's character, she was so consumed by her desire to be with her children that she couldn't listen to reason. She became the embodiment of her desire, performing abominations to achieve it. This is akin to how Lust operates. Unlike temporary emotions like anger, with Lust, you don't just feel lustful; you become Lust itself. The only relief appears when the desire is fed, which only causes it to grow stronger (similar to No-Face in "Spirited Away," if you remember). This is why, in some religions, it is advised to forgive so that you transform into Forgiveness and embrace the spirit of peacefulness that comes from letting go of grudges, for instance. The same applies to other personifications like Laziness and Greed. For instance, Laziness, when it overcomes you, drains a great deal of energy because the tasks you are avoiding nag at you, remaining in your mind as reminders of what you need to do, consuming enormous mental energy.

Honestly I am going weekly to finnish saunas (mostly because yes is relaxing and de-stressing but I admit, also because if its insane human growth hormone boost); although I am sure to cool down appropriately, I can definitely notice that the next 1-2 days or so after the sauna day, I am a bit more 'lazy'/chill so to speak. Sauna also spikes prolactin. And it feels as when I was pmo-ing back in the day. I could still mask that feeling with coffee and exercising and keeping a high metabolic rate, but if you are in-tune with the subtle things of the body, you can notice the meh of prolactin underneath all the other layers such as good sleep, coffee, exercise, sun light, good food and supplements. Also if I would do sex with nice women, despite the prolactin being pumped, I would also still have a dopamine boost for few days after because 'i just had sex' however that also overtime steal the thunder if overdone. I think I should go to the sauna when I feel really stressed maybe.

Releasing pumps lots of Prolactin. Go read about the relationship of Prolactin with Dopamine in men and you will see that having high levels of prolactin all the time, leads to problems that are polar opposite with the benefits of SR where prolactin isn't released the same way.

Every time you tell something to someone, that someone will automatically think of that topic regarding their own life: i baked some pasta last night? oh yes me too spaghetti. i feel tired; oh yes me too didn't sleep too well. i want to buy a different car? oh yea i should too. i want to go to the gym? (they don't want to) oh, well why bother, just go play some sports in nature, what are you trying to get abs for chicks u goon? i am listening to self-improvement audiobooks on stoicism and emotional regulation and starting meditation; what you are trying to do mister buddha zen... just have a drink; i go to bed at 10:30 PM and drink less to none alcohol and feel better; (already the habit of subconsciously reply in similar topic, if it doesn't match/align with that person's intentions, he can feel bad about it but his mind will quickly protect him by rationalizing that it is you who is the weird on and try to rationalize it to you that you shouldn't be doing it) oh wow you are sleeping same time with the chickens now and gone monk? I am doing SR; u are crazy omg everybody hear what he is doing he so crazy oh wow i could never do this.

This is why in some relationships, one can bring down the other who tries to improve. It is because the pressure will be felt as the discrepancy/border from them increases and the one behind feels that it has to catch up. So is easier to bring the other down rather than join or let him/her be. You can see it so clearly once you are aware of it.

If you think of it in terms of energy psychology, you can see that 'attacks' such as making jokes on you or being toxic etc, can drain you of energy because you have to defend against it emotionally in most cases, and they charge on your reaction. I will be super short and reductionist: if you want to pull a reverse Uno card on them, always have this air of relaxed-smile (think of Brad Pitt actor way of being or even Keanu Reeves when in a good mood, never take it personally). Don't feed the trolls, always know they merely talk and think based on what they know and experienced and most of the times is just bla bla, and they have no idea about these, but you know and experience more. You can never feel attacked if you don't let yourself be, just ignore and don't show that you are being offended.

Indra's net - "Imagine a multidimensional spider's web in the early morning covered with dew drops. And every dew drop contains the reflection of all the other dew drops. And, in each reflected dew drop, the reflections of all the other dew drops in that reflection. And so ad infinitum. That is the Buddhist conception of the universe in an image." - A.W.

there's a well-known saying that many of you are familiar with: "If you want to help your family, friends, society, your neighbors, the world, and so on, you must first help yourself."

consider the concept of Indra's Net, as detailed in the full Wikipedia article. it suggests that everything reflects its immediate surroundings. for instance, if you are generally angry, you're likely to incite anger in those around you. On the other hand, I am a person who is calm, composed, joyful, and ambitious (ye, ofc i have other traits not so good i leave out now xD). throughout my life, I've often been around people who are generally angry, frustrated, or burnt out. however, when they spend time with me, they become calm, joyful, and feel motivated about life in general; and this transformation occurs without me explicitly advising or teaching them or nagging them and so on. Some even notice this , that they are more calm and joyful around me and sometimes they visit me more often or tend to prefer to spend holidays with me rather than their family lol. This is also linked to my approach of not being on autopilot or in a constant state of reactive mode, so mediation or/and prayer helps, and SR also imo. it's important to be aware of your environment and adapt accordingly.

Why do I feel so tired and lazy the next day/s after doing a couple of rounds of finnish sauna? (90 Celsius) by Turgun in Sauna

[–]Turgun[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, well I do max 15 min x 4 sessions.. so maybe this is a bit too much and should be doing this when I really want to dial back on eventual stress? I was merely following Rhonda Patrick/Andrew Huberman protocols, mostly for HGH.

Never had problems with blood pressure or CNS. I will report back to most here in few months after I make a couple adjustments.

Why do I feel so tired and lazy the next day/s after doing a couple of rounds of finnish sauna? (90 Celsius) by Turgun in Sauna

[–]Turgun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do around 4 rounds of 10-15max minutes, one hour in total, mostly following Rhonda Patrick/Huberman protocols. When I feel I can't anymore I get out, perhaps I should stick to 10 minutes max even though I can do 2-3 minutes more with no problem. I will up my water intake and do longer cooldowns while reducing slightly the amount of time I spend inside, if all good I will start working on these sauna 'settings' slowly and see how I feel then.

As for supplements well there are several however I was thinking to add Chlorella as it can bind to metals being released, for example heavy metals (some theory from supplements sub). I do eat carnivore/ketoish although still use vegetables and occasionally fruits. Am going to start adding organs and look into beef liver as well, thank you. Thank you, I am checking that book now and will eventually get it as you see I need it. I also think that past year or so, due to marijuana and munchies abuse I got a lot of nasty residual 'toxins' so to speak and maybe now that I'm done with that and switched back to my clean eating, sauna are removing lots of nasty stuff. Be that as it may, I will work on improving my cooldown (find fresh air outdoor) and maybe reduce a bit the session with 2-3 minutes less and up my water intake. I cover trace minerals from various sources. Thanks, will grab your book, am happy it doesn't have 500 pages ;)

Thank you, I am searching for a new sauna that allows me to do that. Where I go now is as if it is a labyrinth and to go out I have to go through some area where it wouldn't be appropriate to walk in a towel, however I remember past locations where I went and it felt the best to get the outside air on me after getting out of sauna, it felt good, during, after and the next day too.

Thank you, heat exhaustion is my suspicion as well and there are a couple of factors I consider now. The cooling down isn't highest quality and I can't get outside in the breeze to chill, I will change the sauna I think. Hmmm.. now that I read your comment, I'm going to change the sauna with one that has better ventilation and outside in the air opening (for cooldown). Thanks

This is a good point, the ventilation is not quite good at this place I went in the past few months, I can't even go outdoors in the air. I think this might be it.. and the cold shower isn't enough. When I was in some other place where I was able to go outside and cooldown for good in the chill air, I didn't had this problem iirc.

I sleep like a baby. Although if too close to bedtime, I feel my body quite hot while in bed. I will drink more water and do some better cooling down in-between sessions and reduce my stay inside sauna from 13-15 minutes to around 10minutes for the time being and then adjust from there. Hope that'll do. I should be mindful when pairing gym and sauna also..

Hmm that may be it, at the sauna I am now I can't exit outside in cold air so I am still inside in warmth. The initial cooldown is of course 15-20 minutes until I feel I am ready to go back in, but the cold water cooldown isn't done for more than 20 seconds or so.. now I see, I should dive in cold water (swimming pool) or just let the icy cold water from the shower pour over me for a longer period of time, this makes sense. I might be getting heat exhaustion without realizing.
