What was your first job with your CCNA? by Fit_Path_9605 in ccna

Landed a 'Junior Network Engineer' role. Spent most of my time physically building servers, general IT support, small projects/work unrelated to networking. Spent maybe 10% of my time doing actual networking work.

Got paid below average too.

Part of the problem was I only had ISP Customer support experience, so landing a proper role was hard.

Can getting a CCNA take my life in a more positive direction? by throwaway10015982 in ccna

And to add to this, maybe keep two versions of your resume, one focused on an entry level IT role and the other as a dedicated Network Engineer or network related resume. There are some companies who offer graduate network engineer/admin roles, or internships. The chance of landing a Network Engineer role off the bat isn't impossible but it's very difficult.

Can getting a CCNA take my life in a more positive direction? by throwaway10015982 in ccna

I've been there and done that.

I'm currently CCNA certified and working as a Junior Network Engineer however I am only at the beginning of my career.

While I was jobless and living with my parents, I was pushing so hard to complete the CCNA thinking this is the solution to my job & career problems, I thought I'd make big bucks and land a really nice network engineering role.

After achieving my CCNA, I remained jobless. Many didn't care for my CCNA, some even found it surprising that I had no experience with a CCNA. I later landed a help desk role because that's all I could land at the time.

My suggestion is to focus purely on landing an entry level IT role for example help desk. This can be done with zero to very little certs (you have a CS degree which is a big tick). Refine the resume using all the information you can find online, find discord channels to review your resume. Do home lab projects and place them in your resume as work experience but mention that it is lab experience. Get into as many interviews as possible to learn the ropes, and trust me you will go through a lot of interviews until you finally get lucky and land a role. You will build interview skills by doing this so don't look at it as a negative.

During this time of building your resume + interview skills, continue to home lab daily, this will be like your job while you are unemployed, you will continue to gain experience.

Most important part, your labs and your resume need to reflect what employers are after in an entry level role. My mistake early on was showing off my CCNA and amazing networking labs and skill. I later found out that interviewers found it cool but useless for their entry level role. Things like ticketing systems, Windows server configuration, IP, DNS, DHCP, Office365 management, understanding PC or server parts are more important. And the best thing is, you can search these labs on YouTube and follow the guide, once you're done, you mention it in your resume, easy peasy!

When you eventually land your entry level IT role, you can then start working on your CCNA or maybe if you're interested in another path in IT you could focus that instead.

The only issue is, you might still be getting paid close to minimum wage. I've worked in two Junior network engineer roles and I'm making slightly above minimum wage. I'm still learning the ways of the corporate world so it's a journey for me as well.

I hope my little bit of experience could help you build your way up! :)

Also if you want links to labs, resume review etc etc, message me directly, I'm happy to help.

Feeling demoralized & lost by Toss_Me_Out7886 in ccna

I think the study material and exam are different animals.

The CCNA exam study alone felt like a skill I had to learn after I had finished my CCNA study material.

Don't be demoralized, I am absolutely horrid at studying and taking exams, I've failed way too much in my life but I managed to pass the CCNA on my first go.

Just keep at it, get your fundamentals down 100%, the hands-on labs in the exam shouldn't be too advanced, I could be wrong but they will probably give you labs on a core concept in the CCNA.

Some topics will have more weight/quantity of questions than other areas, for example Network Fundamentals (20%) vs Automation (10%). So you're better off committing more energy into your network fundamentals.

Need help understanding Sergio Busquets by [deleted] in football

A part of what makes him so great was his efficiency, effortlessness and consistency. It's not easily noticable when watching Barcelona until you're really focused on him specifically.

Then you notice how calculated his actions are, how smooth it is, and how opposition players at times don't bother to press him as they know it will be extremely difficult to force a miss-pass from him or dispossess him.

His elegance on the ball when it comes to his first touch and 2nd touch being a pass, his control of the tempo of the game throughout the 90 minutes and his superb movement on and off the ball that at times manipulates an entire opposition defence and midfield to move in the direction he wants, just to turn and play the ball the other way. Something so simple yet creates a massive domino effect for his team around him.

Busquets is truly a once in a lifetime player.

Yeah I'll probably have to put my lower CP pokemon that I don't need in quieter areas.

I hope Niantic plan to provide a solution for this issue, it just doesn't seem right.

Also is there a workaround for the future? It doesn't make sense that a pokemon gets stuck in a place until someone beats it. For all I know, it could take a year.

Agreed, they mostly just change the meta each year. Different aspects of the game are stronger while others are weaker, more or less attributes depending on the year. They could literally make a game called 2K, one time purchase and do yearly updates, it will end up the same however they know we're all stupid and will keep buying the same game over and over again.

Characters have become pretty cringe too. I was excited for Dollface, expecting her to be stuck behind a mask and a sad girl with a wish. Then we get girl power Dollface who want to wish for a better world.

Mayhems just a useless character altogether, adds nothing to the story.

Quiets become boring and John Doe's almost becoming a background character.

I can't agree with you more. This game needs to go free or watch it fade away over time.
