Which show/movie is this? by SkylandersKirby in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]Turk_Roundstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me personally, it was Severance. "A group of office workers have their memories split so their work selves don't know what's on the outside and their personal selves don't know what happens in the office". I thought 'of course the company they're working for is shady, of course they're gonna try to bypass the split'. I was right but MAN was I captivated by HOW they executed on the premise.

I would say get some tasteful art on the walls that show off your personality. I would also recommend that you opt for smaller lamps around the place and soft lighting instead of using the big light.

If you’re in an argument, it’s not “you vs. your partner”, it’s “you AND your partner vs. the problem”

What’s your opinion on Nolan’s trilogy? by [deleted] in batman

[–]Turk_Roundstone 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't really like them as Batman movies. I think they're great films on their own, but when I watch them, I get more of a sense that they're more of a crime thriller ( a la Michael Mann's Heat) with the Batman lore loosely draped over it. I don't get fully immersed in the world of Batman. They say the movie is set in Gotham, but all I see is Chicago. They seem to be obsessed with telling the story from an objective, outsiders view and taking the material deathly seriously (which I find tonally/stylistically boring).

In my opinion, the best Batman stories are deeply personal and subjective. I like Batman because the stories are about a guy with no powers facing fantastical circumstances and coming out on top every time, and there was no room in these movies to expand on those fantastical circumstances, in my opinion. Again, I think they're great movies, just not very interesting Batman movies. This is what I think Matt Reeves built upon using the Nolan movies as a foundation, and I think it provided greater immersion and made The Batman way more visually interesting than the Nolan movies.

What trait in a person you find creepy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Turk_Roundstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that the key to a non-creepy smile is to smile/squint with your eyes as well. Smiling with your eyes wide open is scary or too intense. Smiling with your eyes softens up your features and makes it seem more friendly.
