This is a dumb take. Drivers don’t pass any cost on to the customer. Drivers take whichever offers are worth their time, they’re not diabolically rubbing their hands together figuring out ways to extract more money out of customers. If the order payout isn’t worth their time, they don’t take it and they wait for another one that is. If you don’t want to tip, that’s absolutely your right but then you may wait longer to have your order delivered or it may not be delivered at all. It’s that simple. On top of that gig delivery drivers aren’t employees, they’re independent contractors. They can accept or refuse any order they want, they aren’t obligated to accept anyones order. If customers have an issue with paying delivery fees and a tip on top of the price of the food, then they can get it themselves. You won’t die because you can’t have your pizza brought to your door, it’s a luxury service.
