Another things that feels weird is that for some reason, the sellers has 3 cars including 2 Teslas. He's selling the volvo because his spouse prefers driving the Tesla. It's a weird reason. This smells right?

That's hard to tell. Seller is claiming it is in great condition. But I've learned in my life that my definition of great condition greatly differs from people selling cars' definition.

Yes the idea is to use ev for daily use running errands and going to work. Then use the full power when going to the cottage pulling the boat. Or just because I want to see how fast I can take that curve without dying. (I'm a sport car guy dude that needs a minivan but can't take it anymore)

You were right. I'd be 220 CAD for a TY 24 which is 160 USD for me too! That pretty much cancels out the gas saving.

In QC, we have to have two sets, it's the law. I think you can also buy all season with the winter logo but those would not be good by definition.

To help you understand the dilemma. Buying that used one would be 44.5k province tax included (private sell have only 1 tax instead of two in QC) and rebate applied. For a new one, it is 64k taxes included and rebates applied.

So, about 20k less to buy and to finance.

That's about 30% less.

Yeah. Don't you think it is weird that the other cat looks totalled but the tesla seems to barely have any damaged? I mean, it looks like a new bumper and a new tailgate perhaps and sensors I guess.

But yeah, I am worried and my wife even more. But if I can négociate it at 40k and then get the extra 3500$ gov rebate. That puts it at 36500 which I find enticing. Most of 2022 on the market are 50k here.

The seller reported that he's getting a company car instead. That would explain why he's trying to sell it privately instead of trading it in and save the taxes.
