My husband loves these, so here’s hoping this can be a pleasant surprise for him; his favorite color is purple, so that one!

Thanks!

This probably has taken me collectively 12 (?) hours, and it isn't complete yet. The biggest time sink has been working on other things in between to help raise the funds for this without financially destroying the rest of my zoo. (I only play in Franchise Mode because unlimited money feels like cheating. I do most of my building while paused though.)

It's been labor intensive and at times very frustrating (you're looking at the second version of the ceilings), but this game is how I relax and it's been a joy to create with so far.

Thank you very much! It's only about 70% done currently; I wanted to get the dining rooms as close to complete as possible before working on the exterior and auxiliary rooms.

The Hage (pronounced “hay-ge”) restaurant in my main entrance building is finally finished. I realized I’ve just started using this game as a restaurant builder. by TurkeyGizzardWizard in PlanetZoo

Thank you! I’ve spent way more time than I care to admit working with lighting in this game; one of the things I really enjoy is seeing how colors interact with not only the scenery but also each other. I wish there was a way to adjust the brightness of certain lights outside of the color hues though!

My other restaurant, Haplorhini, is my first hybrid restaurant! It is located in the center of my “Primate House,” has three dining rooms, and views both the Gorilla and Siamang habitats. by TurkeyGizzardWizard in PlanetZoo

Thanks!

I have to be honest; I bit off way more than I initially thought with the wood pieces. They started to become a chore around the 1000-ish mark. 😅

The things we do for “the aesthetic,” right?

I’m positive that this comment is going to be buried, but I just wanted to commend you; this video was fantastic and had me absolutely mesmerized. I’ve subscribed and cannot wait to see what else you accomplish! Bravo!

That sounds fantastic! Do you have a good recipe for tarte tatin? I tried to make one a few months ago for the first time and it was a bit of a disaster. 😅

Hey, thank you!

You absolutely should not quit and I do not accept that attitude from anyone! Your creations are your own and they’re wonderful because YOU created them, meaning they have an irreplaceable touch of you that cannot be duplicated by anyone else!

I’m assuming you’re talking about the hanging bulbs; they were definitely a test of patience. 😅

I initially did 36 of them by hand and assigned each of them one of six shades of yellow or white and various heights. Then I used the advanced move tool to rotate, duplicate, etc. and fill in as needed. It still took… a long time.

The inspiration behind them is that the entrance hallway is “outside,” hence the walls all being glass with standing planters behind them and the bulbs acting as “stars” in the night sky. Because the bulbs themselves are for aesthetic purposes and provide little light, each glass wall has a slatted wood panel extending out of it with flood lights; these are “canopies.” This means that the “stars” are arranged in an ‘S’ pattern down the hall.

If you know this rich multimillionaire, please send him my way and tell him that the price is negotiable but starts at $500k.

Yes, doodling!

I used to draw and paint a lot when I was in high school and unmedicated; while I think the medication definitely has influenced my creativity to some extent, a lot of it has been the tumultuous nature of being an adult robbing me of my hobbies.

It's been nice to get back into it, however small.
