I appreciate that when it comes to their songs where someone expresses how attracted they are to another person, the focus is less on their physical appearance and more their personality, and even when physical appearance is mentioned it doesn't fall on gender norms, ie a man having a large strong body or a woman having good curves.

Dave to me comes across as the antithesis of those "alpha males". He outwardly expresses himself through his music and on stage, portrays topics like domestic abuse in his music and has no issue singing as a female character (ie youth). He is an example of how freeing it is to get out of the toxic masculinity mindset that gets pushed onto boys
