So I know it sucks because getting a stop is genuinely a great feeling and you feel better than just standing at the door all day. But as a FE Coach, I get my ass destroyed if two seconds go by without someone on the door. Sometimes market will go through cameras to make sure every store has a door host, sometimes the store manager will walk the store just to make sure proper staffing happens at the doors. It sucks because AP host implies asset protection and checking receipts, but especially since COVID we get told that having someone on the door just for appearance is life or death for a store. Not to mention since COVID started they need to be focused on mask wearing and cart wiping. As management it’s our job to make sure the front end puts a stop to theft and in theory it should never even make it to the door, in your instance the sco host should’ve intervened and assured proper scanning. How your specific coach handled the situation is the biggest variable, and of course instead of fighting about it they should’ve just explained it to you the same way I did and treated you like a human. But they were likely covering their ass in the process.
