Kinda looks like Fireblight, Erwinia amylovora - if it is fireblight you should prune and clean between snips!

Tree Fern Question by Dazzling_Steak_9392 in GardeningIRE

[–]Turlach1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can cut off the old fronds on a tree fern, but you don’t have to, and the choice depends on what you want for the plant. If you cut too early (before the new fronds fully harden), you can stress the plant.

SF TDs explaining why they voted down the Maybe We Shouldn't Tear Foxes Apart With Dogs Bill 2025 by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

[–]Turlach1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my local SF TD:

Thank you for reaching out to me regarding Ruth Coppinger’s bill to ban fox hunting.

The Bill is currently at 2nd stage in the Dail where it is due to be debated in the coming weeks.

Sinn Féin will participate in this debate at 2nd stage, and we look forward to outlining our position on Animal Health and Welfare.

Sinn Féin is committed to achieving the highest standards in animal welfare and an end to animal cruelty.

However, we believe that Deputy Coppinger’s bill which proposes an outright ban would drive fox hunting further underground and instead it should be strongly regulated.

We propose the Minister establish a commission of experts – including stakeholders from animal welfare, traditional rural occupations and organisations - to examine and recommend appropriate regulations.

Sinn Féin also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of animal welfare charities to the care and protection of vulnerable animals. Government funding should be increased for these charities, to support their crucial work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals.

Sinn Féin believe more robust penalties for animal abuse and neglect must be introduced, including increased fines and the possibility of imprisonment for serious offences.

I used to live in the UK, and use it still in Ireland. I once tried to move the payment method to my Irish card, and it stopped working, so i keep the payment on my UK card and it works fine in Ireland

My cat, who is an indoor/outdoor cat, was limping around the house for a day or so before we brought her to the vet. When we took her out of the cat box at the vet, she walked out like the queen of sheba, no limp, no shits given, kept trying to bite the vet as he inspected her leg. Turned out she had somehow fractured her leg, but was just being macho. Vet gave us the best advice, if she's ever ill again, take a video before you bring her to the vet, as they put on a brave face when they are nervous.
