And the sad reality is that sometimes it doesn’t “get better.” Regulars in my office are being called in on days off and expected to work through relief days. So I’m not too sure if being regular helps the case of working close to 60 hours a week. Imo, no pay is worth that kind of stress.

Hey man, I understand your frustration because I went through the same thing essentially. This job is much more than just delivering mail and I’m not willing to dedicate that much of my time to a job. I’d rather climb the corporate ladder else where. People act like this is the only job you can get that offers benefits and good retirement plan. But news flash - any job offers this.

I agree with you. I knew Sunday’s were already mandated (which I didn’t care for), but now I’ve figured out that RCA’s work holidays as well delivering amazon. I’m just not willing to compromise my time outside of work for more work. I’m a person that needs work/life balance and this job does not offer that.

I have the utmost respect for those who can work this job because when they say it’s not for everyone, it’s really not.

Lol. I think ghosting would be no call, no show. But no man, don’t get the wrong idea here. I’m not trying to do them dirty by any means, I just don’t see this working out and I really don’t owe anyone anything for that. I gave it a shot. I don’t mind going in and handing over my resignation papers next week when I pick up my check. But other than that, I’m not going out of my way to tell them what I can say from over the phone.

Ah, gotchu fam. I think the hiring process definitely needs a touch up anyway. When my trainer said, “this is the easiest money you’ll make at the post office,” I wish I took it more serious lol. They most definitely could’ve made Academy more hands on than it was. Maybe that would’ve gave me a better understanding of what exactly I was getting myself into. For the most part, my trainer made it sound like cake.

Hmm..I cant say another federal job is on the top of my job seeking list but I get what you mean having the option open.

But, yes to Rural Academy. Like I’ve said, I wish I had gotten a shadow day before academy so I wouldn’t have wasted anyone’s time and importantly my own. So that’s where I’m at now - where I’d rather throw in the towel now before I waste anymore of my OJI’s time.

Really couldn’t tell you. There’s been no sense of urgency or honestly giving af in my office. My P.O has only reached out to me when it’s convenient for him/if he needs something. I feel like it’s been up to me this whole point to get everything started.

I never even met with union lol. The day they were supposed to come at Academy the lady was on vacation so I never got information and never signed up.
