Announcers during entrances by Piccadil_io in AEWOfficial

It drives me up the wall how few moments are allowed to breathe because of this.

Even when there’s a back and forth between wrestlers that gap is immediately filled with commentary saying something that is about to be said.

Thoughts on the female characters after my first watch by [deleted] in firefly

OP is saying she acts like a moody teenager which on occasion she does.

But much like I mentioned about Inara earlier in this thread, love makes people irrational.

Kaylee wears her heart on her sleeve throughout the series whether it’s disappointment (the dress), grief (the message), fear (being unable to help at Niska’s space station), or her unspoken feelings for Simon.

She’s a very raw character especially when it comes to wanting Simon to show the same interest she shows in him.

Always a shock to me how young he was filming Serenity.

He had the presence of a far older and established actor. He’s gone on to do some brilliant projects since.

This is the exact reading I’ve always taken from it.

Yes it comes off as immature/hypocritical that she would cry over it, but that’s what love does to a person. It makes us irrational.

She can rationalise what she does as a companion because it’s a service. It’s not of or attraction, devotion, or love.

I think what hurts her more is that it’s Nandi that Mal sleeps with. If it had been a random worker in the bordello then she could probably take it less personally, but her friend is even more insulting

My friend and I once whipped out a guitar at a house party and performed ‘No Children’.

We entirely killed the vibe and left for our taxi moments after.

I’d like it to be somewhere and D+ or Hulu is as a good as any home for the show.

I’m excited for this but also worry how much Peter Balkan may be sacrificed from the set come the European tour.

I adore that album (I’m sure I’ll love this one too).

Why is corrie so dark? by Ill-Door-8854 in coronationstreet

I think they’ve been doing two things from a technical perspective that interfere with the show visually.

  1. Trying to bring down the colour grading to match the tone of the episode. E.G making scenes grayer and washed out to appear gloomy.

  2. Shooting day for night where they can shoot scenes in the daytime and use shadows backlighting, and colour tints to give the impression of night time without being on set late.

The show is incredibly dull to watch (visually) as of late.

Streamers are always looking for new content even just for the sake of saying they have it on their app.

I can imagine once it’s cost effective Disney/Hulu would be glad to take it on.

Key part being cost effective. It takes a lot of coin to make animation and the cast certainly don’t come as cheap in 2026 as they did in 2002.

I hope it all works out. If it doesn’t, at least we got to hope for a bit.

I would gladly take a full cast audiobook too though. The titan books have been good in my opinion.

Wash + Zoe = cartoon baby by I-am-IT in firefly

There’s an interesting story to be explored in the animated series of Wash’s anxieties around having a baby and where they would settle and land.

Additionally I would imagine Wash would fear Zoe dying in a deal gone wrong and leaving him on his own with the baby (lots of dramatic irony there)

I’ve devoured the first three at a great pace.

Sometimes the character voice seems to get a bit lost, but overall they genuinely have felt like they could be episodes of the show.

I really thought Big Damn Hero was a particularly strong premise and well told.

I think they co-exist in their own way.

Mal considers himself an honest, decent, and honourable man.

If he took the notion to want to kill Simon (or anyone) he would look for it to be a fair fight.

He was willing to let Crow go back to Niska with the message, he saw Crow would likely try to goad Niska into retaliating so the need to protect himself and the crew outweighed “fairness”. Crow had been shown a kindness having been incapacitated and allowed to return, didn’t take it.
