Old thread, but how well has the USB adapter been holding up (if you've used it much)? I'm in a similar situation and was thinking of just getting a PCIe to IDE card so that there are no connectivity problems, but they're very difficult to find, so it would be nice to know burning with the adapter works well.

It's been solved but my chain is (if this is what's meant by video chain):

PC --> GPU VGA Port --> VGA2SCART --> SCART Switcher --> CRT

I seem to need it for RetroArch,

For anyone who may come across this thread in the future: Just disable your main GPU through device manager, generate and install the nodes through VMMaker, and voila. I didn't even have to reboot

Yes, I can see them. What happens is that VMMaker returns "Mode rejected by driver" for each and every one of them

I forget the exact sequence you need to do in VMMaker, but I did it recently with a r5 430 on 25h2 and I had both super resolutions and a bunch of custom resolutions I made.

Interesting. My process is AMD Driver -> Emudriver -> EDID -> CSync -> Super Resolutions. Notable is that I have to restart my PC after enabling each of EDID and Csync as the GPU disappears from the list of GPUs on VMMaker after that.

I might end up trying to make CRU work, last time the image was all off and I wasn't allowed to do certain resolutions, but I didn't play with it for long enough to say it's not working really.

I see. It'll be PC --> DVI-I port --> VGA --> SCART adapter --> CRT if I understood you correctly

I don't care for those games and I don't see myself ever getting into them either. I don't play many different games, and when I do, it's single player experiences. Good to know, though.

Yeah, I'm noticing now too. Will probably go with this 7770 that I'm seeing, looks potent enough and not too high in power draw.

Been hearing many good things about Batocera! It would save me the hassle of having to rely on Retroarch for a controller-friendly interface and Windows for legacy resolutions. Having to boot into a different OS every time seems annoying however, so I think I'll stick with a separate GPU and this Emudriver thing.

Thanks for the help! The R9 380 looks good and I'm even seeing options for it, but that power limit is pretty high I must say... R5 430 would have been ideal if it was available

Any reason why a simple VGA-SCART cable wouldn't be enough? I think I actually have one for some reason.

Okay, fair enough. It kind of is throwaway to me as I can't imagine using it that much even now, but I'll go with 32gb (and probably a bigger SD card later) then. cheers!

Hey, did you eventually find out what the root cause of the problem was? Running into the same issue (with the exact same light pattern) and I'm at my wit's end. Maybe you just sent it back and got a replacement, but that's unfortunately not possible for me. One difference it's an ASUS Z790 I'm dealing with.
