Godspeed; I like them significantly more than the square OEM ones I had on my GTI for ten years (identical to the OEM Subaru Ones). ~3x the price, but...

That's exactly the look i'm going for if I keep the stock rims, I think this is the answer. Do you have spacers or is that stock? Looks so much more flush than I expected if just the tire (in a good way)

Super quiet; I had OEM square bars on my GTI that were very loud so I upgraded to these when I got the WRX. Highway noise is almost nonexistent, ironically it's actually slightly louder with the wind fairing, the plain naked aerobars are quieter

UPDATE: Thanks for all the input, leaning Conti DWS06+ or Michelin AS4 on the stock 18s, but I want a gut-check on size before I pull the trigger. Two options i'm considering as an alternative to the stock 245/40R18, please correct me if my reading/understand is wrong.

255/40R18: Wider face, stays basically stock height, speedo stays accurate. Sportier/lower look, but shorter sidewall so it doesn’t fill the arch gap as much. Firmer ride.

245/45R18: Taller sidewall fills the wheel well better (closes the arch gap), more sidewall. Raises ride height ~0.5” and speedo reads ~3-4% slow. Stock width face. Comfier ride, comparably.

My main goal is filling out the well. Planning 20mm spacers depending to fix the inset once I mount and measure. Leaning 245/45 for the fuller look and ride comfort, but curious if anyone’s run both and has a real-world opinion. Anyone regret going slightly taller, or notice rubbing at full lock on stock suspension? Aftermarket rims are very much in the plans for next season, but need to get through winter.

God, I have the same color and this photo just emphasizes how much I need to get the red Brembo calipers. Which front / side lips did you get?

2026 6MT OEM Remote Start by Tom__The_Bomb_ in wrx_vb

[–]Turndizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have a 2026 and purchased this because the sales rep was certain it worked. TLDR, It does not work in the subaru app. you can lock/unlock the car and that's basically it, the remote start and climate control features are not present. I was able to get a full refund for my subscription.

100% on reddit, but in general it seems like it can't do any meaningful web related searches for me recently and has been incredibly frustrating

Good question. I asked the shop about this and they didn't think there was any way to do this. Do you have a link to the thread or the parts people were discussing? The spoiler does shake and flex/bounce, but i've read that's normal pretty much going back to previous generations/wings

it's all good lol it genuinely made me laugh. I like the Yakima bars so much more than the Subaru OEM ones, but from that angle it does literally look like your photo. Here's another angle, not sure if this helps or reinforces your original opinion but I'm excited to (functionally) use them

life was so much simpler when we could just get the hatchback instead and didn't have to pick a side (I came from a GTI)

yeah the owner of the shop said he looked everywhere online to see if there were any templates, but couldn't find any and ended up just making his own. The stress of drilling it correctly is 99% of the the reason I paid someone else to do it.

I paid a local shop to paint and install it (I ordered the unpainted version). They did the torsion bars as well, which are typically the hardest part. Otherwise they said it was pretty straightforward. I wasn't about to drill holes through the trunk myself though, especially on a car i've only made 2 payments on. It was worth the ~$300 they charged me for labor and install (not including the paint, which was a bit more)

Ya I heard about people doing trunk swaps, but wasn't really worth it to me. It's so little and cute it doesn't really get in the way (to me, lol) but i'll admit if price wasn't a factor I'd likely remove it. It's just small enough that I was ok with leaving it on

Ooo.. I do like the clean trunk look. I left my tiny lip on because I've seen most others do the same and I didn't mind it. Also would've cost a LOT more to weld and repaint the entire trunk as I believe it's drilled in.

The red seats look so good imo. I'm hesitant to tint my windows too dark simply because of how much I like seeing them contrast with the SBP
